Reality star Kourtney Kardashian received heavy criticism after her 10-year-old daughter, Penelope Scotland Disick, shared a make-up tutorial on TikTok.
Some fans found it adorable while noting her passion for fashion and beauty– just like her mom and aunts. However, the majority of the social media netizens called out her mother for allowing Penelope to explore the use of make-up at such a young age.
Penelope put on a pink headband in the since-deleted video to keep her hair from falling off her face. She then applied concealer and blended it before applying the mascara, sparkly eyeshadow, and lipgloss.

Kourtney Kardashian’s Daughter Made A Make-Up Tutorial Video
Kourtney Kardashian faced backlash after her daughter, Penelope– whom she shares with Scott Disick– posted a make-up tutorial on TikTok.
Many slammed her mother for exposing her to the use of make-up at the tender age of ten.
According to Us Weekly, Penelope began her tutorial by putting on a pink headband to prevent make-up products from getting into her hair. She then applied concealer, moisturizer, and a swipe of sparkly eyeshadow to her eyelids.
After completing her make-up routine, Penelope removed her headband and waved goodbye to the cameras.
“Have a good morning,” she captioned the video, adding a smile emoji. Most of her cosmetic products, including her mascara, lipgloss, and lip balm, were, gotten from her aunt Kylie Jenner’s brand, Kylie Cosmetics (per E!News).
Kourtney Kardashian Received Heavy Backlash
While many fans found it adorable, noting her passion for fashion and beauty, others took issue with the 10-year-old being allowed to use make-up, labeling it inappropriate.
“I can’t believe she is ten, and people are supporting this,” one Twitter user remarked via the Daily Mail.
“Well, when you grow up in a house full of vain women,” another Twitter user wrote, claiming, “I didn’t even think about using make-up until I was 16 years old.”
“I have a ten-year-old. Just no. They have only a few more years of pure innocence left before they start learning about becoming an adult,” one wrote on Reddit via The Sun, and another added, “I can’t believe she is ten, and people are supporting this.” A social media user expressed her fear that the Kardashians’ obsession with beauty was already getting to their children, adding, “Someone call the CDC!”
The clip also had people come to Kardashian’s defense, one of whom wrote, “Penelope Disick being more put together at age ten than I will ever be in my entire life. Slay queen, I guess.”
Penelope Disick And Her Mother Jointly Run The TikTok Account

The “Kourtney-Penelope” TikTok account is jointly run by Penelope and her mother, with her mom monitoring the activities much like Kim Kardashian and her shared account with daughter North West.
The account launched last year features many videos where the pair participate in various viral dance trends. However, from time to time, she partners with other members of her family to make dance trends.
In one of the videos posted, Penelope teamed up with her dad to film a dance video before going for dinner. As the video began, they appeared stone-still. A few seconds later, they raised their hands as if to play a wind instrument. The father and daughter duo were participating in a viral TikTok trend and seemed to know how to nail all the moves, including a disappearing act.
“We are too excited,” she captioned the clip.
Kourtney Kardashian Deleted Her Son’s Secret Instagram Accounts
Kardashian shared that her son, Mason, created secret Instagram accounts during the heat of the pandemic and made him delete them.
Mason, who was ten years old at the time, had joined the platform without the express permission of his parents and began to chat with his followers on his Instagram live.
“Mason started some secret accounts during quarantine,” Kardashian told Vogue Paris in May. “Those were quickly shut down. What kids share today, it’s there forever.”
The Poosh founder was also worried about the “mean” comments he might receive.
She continued, “He started an Instagram yesterday and didn’t ask us. He doesn’t [have a cellphone]. He has an iPad and a computer for his school. Scott and I just felt like he’s 10.”
