Shia LaBeouf Says He'd Be 'Dead In Full' If It Wasn't For FKA Twigs

Hollywood movie star Shia LaBeouf has finally spoken on FKA Twigs' 2020 lawsuit accusing him of "relentless abuse.". The couple began dating in 2018, but the relationship barely lasted a year before the singer ended it.

Following the breakup, FKA Twigs filed a lawsuit in which she made numerous claims about how the "Transformer" actor had physically and emotionally mistreated her throughout the relationship and purposefully gave her a sexually transmitted disease.

In a recent interview, LaBeouf appeared to address the allegations, admitting that he had hurt the singer and that he had a long list of people with whom he needed to make atonement for his past misdeeds.

During his chat on actor Jon Bernthal's "Real Ones" podcast on Friday, LaBeouf discussed the allegations of relentless abuse made against him by his ex-girlfriend, FKA Twigs, in a lawsuit she filed in 2020. The "Padre Pio" star revealed that he had "hurt" her during the course of their relationship but did not particularly cite her name in the conversation.

"I hurt that woman," LaBeouf said on the podcast (per Daily Mail.) "And in the process of doing that, I hurt many other people, and many other people before that woman. I was a pleasure-seeking, selfish, self-centered, dishonest, inconsiderate, fearful human being."

While admonishing his past actions, the actor also shared insight into why he was now addressing the situation despite the suit being filed almost two years ago.

He added: "When I think about what my life has become, and what it is now, like what my purpose is now ... I need to be useful. And when I look at this #MeToo environment, there's not a whole lot of dudes that are taking accountability."

Elsewhere in the interview, LaBeouf admitted that he had a " long list of people" to make things right with, adding that he feels he will be indebted to them for the rest of his life.

Via his statement, the LaBeouf seemed to be addressing his misconduct against his loved one over the years, including his repeated legal issues. Earlier in 2020, he was charged with misdemeanor battery and petty theft in Los Angeles, and he has been arrested and charged with disorderly conduct multiple times.

In the podcast, LaBeouf also thanked FKA Twigs for her impact on his life, calling her a "saint," which seemed to imply that he was solely at fault for the breakup of their relationship.

"Had she not intervened in my life and not created the avenue for me to experience ego death, I'd either have a really mediocre existence or I'd be dead in full," he said.

LaBeouf and FKA Twigs met while filming his 2019 film Honey Boy and started dating soon after. They were together for nearly a year before their public split up. Months after the breakup, FKA Twigs sought redress for the alleged toxicity she felt in the relationship, suing her former boyfriend on the grounds of physical and emotional abuse and for exposing her to a sexually transmitted disease.

"What I went through with Shia was the worst thing I've ever been through in the whole of my life," FKA Twigs said in an interview with Times (per EW.) "I don't think people would ever think that it would happen to me. But I think that's the thing. It can happen to anybody."

A legal representative for FKA Twigs revealed at the time that they had attempted to settle the lawsuit out of court if LaBeouf had sought professional help. The actor allegedly refused, prompting the singer to file a lawsuit against him. The trial has been scheduled for April 2023.

Before addressing the allegations from FKA Twigs, LaBeouf issued a statement to Olivia Wilde over claims that she axed him from the set of her movie, "Don't Worry Darling," for not having the "conducive ethos" that was required in her productions.

"I am a little confused about the narrative that I was fired, however. You and I both know the reasons for my exit. I quit your film because your actors & I couldn't find time to rehearse. I have included as a reminder the screenshots of our text exchange on that day," he wrote in his mail to Wilde per Variety.

He also wrote in the mail that he had no plans to sue her for the allegations and simply asked that she not exploit that narrative to sell her film. He pled that her claims would only further make his recovery process difficult and further damn his chances of getting acting jobs later.
