The Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle's new podcast topped the major podcast charts, beating "Joe Rogan Experience." The podcast released two days ago has garnered enough listeners to dethrone Rogan's podcast and topped the Spotify charts in six markets worldwide, including the US, UK, Canada, Australia, Ireland, and New Zealand.

Before the release of her podcast, Rogan had consistently topped the charts for the last three years, even though he was accused of spreading misinformation about the COVID virus.

Her long-awaited podcast, "Archetypes," debuted with an episode that explored the stereotypes faced by women and had a longtime friend and Grand Slam winner Serena Williams in attendance. The next episode will feature a conversation between Mariah Carey and Markle.

The Duchess of Sussex's "Archetypes" has climbed to the top of major Spotify charts, ahead of "The Joe Rogan Experience." The podcast dropped on Tuesday to the delight of all fans and garnered enough listeners to dethrone the controversial commentator.

While Rogan has consistently topped the charts for three years straight, Markle looks ready to consistently dethrone him with her new podcast exploring how language has been weaponized against women in history.

In the debut episode, Markle invited tennis player and Grand Slam winner Serena Williams to the podcast. Both women talked about the word "Ambition" and how it has been weaponized against career women.

"I don't remember ever personally feeling the negative connotation behind the word 'ambitious' until I started dating my now husband," Markle began.

"And um, apparently ambition is, uh… a terrible thing, for a woman that is—according to some. So, since I've felt the negativity behind it, it's hard to un-feel it. I can't unsee it, either, in the millions of girls and women who make themselves smaller — so much smaller — regularly."

Social media erupted with reactions following Markle's rise to the charts. While some praised the Duchess for beating out Rogan at his game, others felt that the popularity might wane off soon.

"Incredible achievement. #1 is 6 countries.... A woman is powerful no matter the #Archetype they try to box her in." A fan stated on Twitter.

Another exclaimed, "And that’s on period! Duchess of sussex does it again! #meghanmarkleisanicon."

Other fans believed that her initial fame was a result of the piqued curiosity on the part of the audience. "Millions, like me, checked out some of it just to hear how bad it was. Not going back, lol" A fan wrote.

Another wrote, "I'm not a fan, but I am curious to see what she's like. I'm sure there are a lot of us out there. Interest will probably wane soon."

A Twitter user noted that the numbers might not be substantial proof of how people received the podcast saying, "I think for a listen to count, the user only has to listen for 30 seconds."

The former "Suits" actress debuted her podcast on Tuesday. However, in March, she hinted to fans about what they should expect from her "Archetypes" podcast.

"This is Archetypes, the podcast where we dissect, explore, and subvert the labels that try to hold women back," she began in the 90-second clip.

"I'll have conversations with women who know all too well how these typecasts shape our narratives. And I'll talk to historians to understand how we even got here in the first place."

The Duchess continued, "This is how we talk about women: the words that raise our girls, and how the media reflects women to us, but where do these stereotypes come from? And how do they keep showing up and defining our lives?"
