Could Mattie Should Replace Kortni on 'Floribama Shore?'

As season 3 of Floribama Shore comes to a close, it’s easy to notice the drastic difference between this season and its predecessor. In the previous seasons, Kortni Gilson was always wherever the fun was. You can classify her as the life of the party. Whenever they went out, she was in the middle of the dance floor doing cartwheels. During season 3, her energy changed. 2 episodes before the season finale, Kortni had a realization that she needed to go home and take care of her mental health.

This realization was surprising to fans because a few episodes before, she returned to the summer house. During the second half of the season, she became very sick. She realized that she needed to get her tonsils removed. She left their summer house and recovered back home at her mother’s house. When this happened, it left a huge opening in the group. This is when Mattie was introduced to the house during a pride parade.

Mattie Lynn Breaux made her first major appearance on Party Down South in 2014. A few years after the show ended, she appeared on 'The Challenge.' This is where Mattie met Gus, and they became close friends outside of the show. Once Kortni left, this was a perfect opportunity to bring in a new house guest to shake things up. Not only did Mattie shake things up, she changed the house dynamic for the better.

Mattie’s entrance into the house was like a breath of fresh air. She brought her positive energy and helped to create a new potential house couple. Not only did she create new storylines for the season but she also brought a level of maturity to the house. To say Mattie is the complete opposite of Kortni is an understatement. This season, Kortni was more irrational and rude than ever before. I’m shocked that her attitude didn’t rub her cast mates the wrong way. You can bring drama to a show and not be terrible to the people around you.

Mattie’s approach to her new house guests was with respect and understanding. Maybe she’s on her best behavior because she’s the new kid on the block, but I think she’s just more mature. On the most recent episode that came on February 6th, Mattie didn’t understand why everyone was being so rude about Jeremiah’s brother Josh coming to visit. Initially, she did get a little upset but she didn’t yell or confront anyone aggressively. She sat down with them and asked. I think that Mattie should permanently replace Kortni for at least the next few seasons and a lot of fans agree.
