Chelsea Clinton: ‘I Had To Let Go Of Kanye West’

Who took the KimYe divorce harder, Chelsea Clinton or Kanye West?

It looks like both parties were severely affected by the a-list couple’s breakup.

The former first daughter of the USA revealed that she’s “had to let go of Kanye” following his split from Kim Kardashian.

It’s no secret, the “Jesus Is King” rapper and his ex-wife had a very public divorce, due in part to Kanye’s disapproval of Kim’s rebound relationship with Pete Davidson.

The couple has since broken up and Kanye took that as an opportunity to happily mourn “Skete Davidson.”

For the longest time it looked like there were three people involved in the big D, but turns out there were four.

Clinton apparently was just as wrapped up in their divorce as the Kim, Pete and Kanye.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, the former first daughter explained that she completely distanced herself from Kanye.

"I've had to let go of Kanye," Clinton told the outlet. "Just the way that he has treated Kim Kardashian, the way that he has talked about women is unconscionable to me."

This was a hard decision for Clinton given she’s a huge fan of his music.

"That was some of my favorite running music and I have removed it from my music library,” she admitted.

This interview was part of her promotion for her new Apple+ documentary series called “Gutsy.”

Clinton stars alongside her mother, Hillary Clinton.

According to Insider, the series involves Hillary and her daughter interviewing a range of prominent women, including Kardashian, rapper Megan Thee Stallion, actor Amy Schumer, and conservation activist Dame Jane Goodall.

Clinton praised Kim for her prison reform efforts.

"I have long admired Kim's commitment to criminal justice reform,” Clinton said.

Kim filed for divorce from her rap star husband in February 2021. It took more than a year for Kanye to “play nice” with his ex-wife and agree to the divorce.

Their divorce was partially finalized in March of this year, but there are still some very important matters to settle in a court of law.

Throughout their years-long divorce battle, the Yeezy designer has gone through five lawyers.

Earlier this month, the rapper was dropped by his fifth lawyer.

According to TMZ, Kim and Kanye had a trial setting conference on Friday, August 5, in Los Angeles, CA. as part of their divorce.

His current divorce lawyer, Samantha Spector, previously asked a judge to relieve her as counsel, which basically means, “Let me go, so I can get TFO!”

Spector claimed her relationship with her client, Kanye, was “irretrievably broken,” but wouldn’t go into further detail.

The divorce lawyer had a date set the following week to officially withdraw, but the judge was feeling extra nice and granted her request to withdraw on August 5th.

Which puts Kanye back at square one without a lawyer.

In May, The Blast exclusively reported on Spector filing the legal documents to withdraw from his ongoing and never-ending divorce from Kim.

In the filing, Spector says there has been an irreconcilable breakdown in the attorney-client relationship. Interestingly, there is not a lot more information as to why Kanye is losing his premiere lawyer, except the case will be handled by one of his other lawyers…for now. The person listed in the documents is an out of the state attorney from Pennsylvania that is not a divorce attorney.
