Ne-Yo’s estranged wife Crystal Smith is cryptically talking about love days after news broke of their split.
Crystal posted a quote on Instagram reading, “I hope you never settle. I hope you hold to your standards in your dreams, relationships, respect. You deserve what you want and what you’ve been working towards.”
The message comes days after reports came out saying the two were over. The Jasmine Brand spoke to a source who confirmed the breakup.
Ne-Yo and Crystal reportedly have not been together in some time and were having many issues. A source told the outlet, “Crystal left him. She’s had enough.” The same source said Crystal will be making the split official and filing for divorce very soon.
The two were married in 2016 and share two kids Shaffer Smith Jr (born 2016) and Roman Alexander-Raj Smith (2018).
The couple showed no signs of trouble before the bombshell split. On New Year’s Eve, Ne-Yo wrote a lengthy post praising Crystal.
He shared photos captioned, “Headed into the new year wit a RIDER. 2019 had its bumps and bruises, yea sure. But it’s not about the difficulty, it’s about ones ability to realize when something is worth fighting for and ones willingness to push thru to the potential greatness of a situation. There no such thing as perfect, a lesson we both have had to learn and lock in. But perfect for each other is a real thing. And that’s you and me❤️ Big plans for 2020 baby! The two have yet to comment on the reports. However, Crystal recently trolled Ne-Yo on Instagram live. Ne-Yo released a clip of him singing a new song that talks about changing a wedding ring into a pinky ring.
Crystal hopped on IG live while hanging out with a male friend, who made sure to show off a ring on his pinky finger. She then asked the man to be her date on Valentine’s Day. The split appears to be turning nasty quick.
