Music star Ozzy Osbourne recently revealed that he promised himself he would never take acid again after a particularly scary drug trip had him talking to a horse for over an hour in a field. He hilariously shared that at the end of their chat, the horse asked him to "f--k off."

Osbourne has battled alcohol and drug abuse for many years and spoke about how he used to swallow handfuls of drugs at once. Osbourne is battling much more difficult problems in old age, like his failing health.

Osbourne was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease in 2019 and has also suffered two terrible accidents that gravely affected his spine and back, for which he has had numerous surgeries. The health issues also affected his music career, and he's been forced to pause performing and indefinitely postpone tours.

According to Daily Star, Osbourne shared the acid trip that made him promise himself never to use the drug again. The 73-year-old rock star explained, "At that time in America, people were very fond of lacing your drinks with acid. I didn't care."

He said that he was a heavy user who "used to swallow handfuls of tabs at a time." However, he eventually gave it all up after he returned to England after a trip. He said, "I took ten tabs of acid then went for a walk in a field. I ended up standing there talking to this horse for about an hour."

Osbourne said that after the long conversation he couldn't recall, the horse "turned round and told me to f--k off. That was it for me." And after that experience, Osbourne said he's never gone near the class A drug again.

He Could Be Paralyzed For Life

One of Osbourne's major health issues is his spinal problems. The "No More Tears" singer recently revealed that there's a possibility that he could be paralyzed for life due to his spinal injuries. He recently returned to the stage for the first time in months, for the Commonwealth Games closing ceremony, after undergoing life-altering surgery two months ago.

Osbourne's spinal injuries started with a quad bike accident in 2003, in which he fractured vertebrae in his neck and eight ribs. Then, he had another terrible fall in 2019, which aggravated the injuries from his 2003 accident. In 2019, he was also diagnosed with Parkinson's disease, although his symptoms are light.

After his first operation, Osbourne told The Sun that the doctors told him that he had "a good chance of being paralyzed" for the rest of his life.

Osbourne also spoke to The Sun about the impact of his failing health on his wife, Sharon, and his career. He said, "Never have I been laid up so bad for so long. It's been breaking Sharon's heart to see me like this but I will get back on tour if it f--king kills me."

The "Crazy Train" singer's last tour was in December 2018, and it was part of his farewell tour, "No More Tours II." Osbourne's health and the COVID-19 pandemic eventually forced him to cancel the 2018 and 2019 legs of the tour, and they are set to resume in 2023 possibly.

Ozzy Osbourne Is On The Mend
