Amber Heard had a rough week in the press, but when she arrived at the Independent Spirit Awards she was flashing a huge grin while throngs of her fans clamored to get a picture with the star and let her know that they still had her back.

The "Aquaman" star was simply beaming Saturday afternoon when she stepped out at the Santa Monica Pier for the Film Independent Spirit Awards. While Heard was not nominated for anything, she showed up to support her friend, Elisabeth Moss, who was nominated for the punk-rock drama "Her Smell."

The 33-year-old actress stunned the waiting crowd in a striped Fendi suit that was adorned with gray butterflies and accented with gold necklaces and bracelets draped around her body. Heard did not wear a shirt underneath the stylish suit and showed off just the right amount of skin in the stylish outfit. Many thought her suit was meant as a subliminal statement, as many other powerful women wore suits for the night, including Elisabeth Moss and Spirit Awards host Aubrey Plaza.

Heard faced a huge backlash during the week after audiotapes were made public that appeared to showcase her admitting to "hitting" ex-husband Johnny Depp during a fight, as well as mocking him for complaining about getting hit. While many supporters of Heard turned on the actress in the wake of the leaked audio, she still has many fans in her corner. After arriving at the Santa Monica Pier, fans screamed out "I love you, Amber!" and "We love you!"

Heard signed autographs, waved and took photos before heading into the awards show.

After Daily Mail dropped the leaked audio last week, fans took to social media to shout from the rooftops in defense of Johnny Depp. As both Depp and Heard have been locked in a bitter defamation lawsuit, fans on both sides have been vigorously arguing with each other online of which A-lister is truly at fault.

"I'm sorry that I didn't, uh, uh, hit you across the face in a proper slap, but I was hitting you, it was not punching you. Babe, you're not punched," Heard admitted in the marriage therapy session between her and Depp.

With Heard's admittance of physical abuse on the "Pirates of the Caribbean" star, the hashtag "JusticeForJohnnyDepp" began trending on Twitter.
