Gayle King has been on the receiving end following the social media backlash that came from her questions regarding Kobe Bryant, in a CBS This Morning interview. She allegedly questioned Kobe’s friend Lisa Leslie about the late basketball star’s sexual assault allegations pressed against him in 2003.
CBS later posted part of the interview on social media, and the reception was not positive. Celebrities and fans have been blasting King, with some issuing her with threats. Consequently, King has been depressed and has even been going without sleep for some days.

Gayle King’s questions on the interview may have been taken out of context as her friends and CBS later indicated. In a statement, the media insinuated that the video posted did not represent the real nature of the interview. CBS seemingly recognized the error leading to the occurrence, and have since committed to taking collective action.
However, celebrity stars, including 50 Cent and Snoop Dogg seem to hear none of the explanations released. They have even gone ahead to post videos to address King.
I hadn’t been following this but this is how Gayle King was attacked for raising the issue of the past Kobe Bryant rape allegation in an interview posted devoid of context. In the past year she’s also been screamed at on camera by R. Kelly for asking about abuse. Unsettling. https://t.co/ofQxugmym4

Although King is having a challenging moment in her life, the journalist seems to have true friends who are not only sharing the emotions with her but also coming out to fight back for her. Oprah Winfrey is among the individuals who are openly expressing their hurt, following Gayle King’s social media attack.
Oprah expressed concern about why the interview had for all its time been calm, with everyone seeming okay including Leslie. According to her, people were putting the journalist in an ugly situation, noting that even her security was not guaranteed.
Snoop Dogg was among the first celebrities to slam the journalist following the controversial interview. His video included what sounded more of a threat, asking Gayle to back off the ‘family’, or they go get her. However, Susan Rice, who is a former national security advisor has come out telling Snoop harshly to back off from Gayle King.
Rice described King as one of the most principled journalists alive and warned Snoop against going after her. She added that going after the journalist would mean facing an army, and Snoop would eventually lose the battle.
This is despicable. Gayle King is one of the most principled, fair and tough journalists alive. Snoop, back the **** off. You come for @GayleKing, you come against an army. You will lose, and it won’t be pretty. https://t.co/nUxcYCLS62

Gayle King’s work involves facts and opinion finding missions, which in this case seem to have gone all wrong. The tough and fair journalist as described by Susan Rice, 55, sought to know how Kobe’s case may have affected his legacy as the NBA superstar he was.
The case involved an accusation against the legend, where he allegedly sexually assaulted an employee of Colorado hotel in 2003. However, the victim failed to cooperate with prosecutors, and the case was finally dropped.
.@WNBA legend @LisaLeslie told @GayleKing that Kobe Bryant's legacy is "not complicated" for her despite his 2003 rape accusation.
