Jennifer Aniston and John Mayer Spotted Together Amid Jessica Simpson Controversy

Watch out Brad Pitt! John Mayer's swooping to steal yo girl. According to Perez Hilton, Jennifer Aniston and Mayer were spotted sharing a dessert together on Thursday night just days before the Oscars. Aniston and Mayer dated in 2008 for just 6 months. This was just after Mayer and Jessica Simpson's relationship ended and not too long after Pitt and Aniston divorced. Pitt attempted to catch Aniston's attention at the Golden Globes but it looks she's now giving that attention to another ex.

A source told Page Six that Mayer and Aniston that the meeting was strictly platonic.

“John Mayer and Andy had dinner at the San Vicente Bungalows earlier on Thursday, then headed to the Sunset Tower for dessert with Jennifer. It wasn’t a romantic meeting, they are good friends, the four of them had dessert,” the source shared.

Mayer and Aniston were joined by talk show host Andy Cohen and Aniston's good friend Amanda Anka who is the co-producer of Aniston's latest gig 'The Morning Show.'

This news comes just after Simpson's memoir came out exposing the dark side of her and Mayer's relationship.

“I constantly worried that I wasn’t smart enough for him,” she writes. “He was so clever and treated conversation like a friendly competition that he had to win.”

She even revealed that it was the start of her alcoholism writing, “My anxiety would spike and I would pour another drink. It was the start of me relying on alcohol to mask my nerves.”

She addressed him calling her “sexual napalm.”

“He thought that was what I wanted to be called,” she says in the memoir. “I was floored and embarrassed that my grandmother was actually gonna read that.”

“A woman and how they are in bed is not something that is ever talked about,” Simpson adds. “It was shocking.”

She even revealed how despite breaking it off with Mayer, he still had a hold on her in future relationships. She began dating quarterback Tony Romo soon after she and Mayer broke up according to Page Six.

Simpson explained that he was initially ok and understanding of the power Mayer had over her.

“If John texted or emailed, I would hold up my phone and tell Tony immediately,” she writes. “He knew the hold John had over me, and it was like telling your sponsor when you’re triggered.”

However, after meeting up with Mayer one time without telling Romo, Romo broke things off for good.

Hopefully, if Aniston starts dating Mayer again, their relationship will go better than his with Simpson.
