What started out as just a few videos about why online dating sucks, has turned into a nearly 100-part video series highlighting some of the insanity seen on dating apps. TikTok creator @shelby_daun posted her first video on the topic of online dating back in March 2021, and now more than a year later, she's gearing up to create her 99th video in the series she calls, "Why Is That On Your Dating Profile?"

In her first dating-related video, before the snazzy title came to be, Shelby shows a few screenshots of the reasons why she deleted her dating apps.

Shelby Is Exposing The Craziness Of The World Of Online Dating

These videos show that the bar isn't just low, it's laying on the ground waiting to be stepped on. "I work third shift so I'm super easy to cheat on," one guy had on his profile to which Shelby responds, "Do better for yourself." Another crazy profile she called out said, "Middle aged train wreck looking for my next toxic relationship." Viewers chimed in on the absurdity of online dating in the comment section, as many seemed to be able to relate.

"It’s a red flag if you read a profile and they are already accusing you of things."

"Why do they always say ‘I can cook better than you?’ Is it a competition?? Is this top chef?? Why the negativity and not ‘Enjoy cooking.'"

"or when people say they're intelligent and their grammar is a mess.? I'm a teacher and it's so hard for me not to say something to them."

"Lol girl, the struggle is real. The profiles that say they’re a Christian and have photos of them flipping us off? Nice."

"I love this series. So damn much."

And the Series Continues...

Fast forward to part 36 of the series when Shelby asks the questions, "why?" and "does that really work for you?" Shelby runs through some more crazy stuff she's seen on dating profiles, such as couples looking for someone to date, guys on Tinder claiming they have standards, and then others who are just plain old rude right out of the gate.

The comment section has the vibe of a therapy session for people trying to find their person online but are being met with nothing but similar craziness.

"part 36 love that we have road this wave together ??? omg bring in part 37"

"How are we not best friends?"

"I wanna join dating sites just to send you stuff ?"

"I love these!!! thanx for sharing.... its good to know I'm not the only one questioning these things ??"

54 Videos Later And It Just Gets More Surreal

"Welcome back to the never-ending series of 'Why Is That On Your Dating Profile?! Part 54," she started another fun (wait, maybe fun isn't the right word to use here) video in the series. In this episode, she shows some dating prompts, photos and bios. But don't worry, she doesn't ever show anyone's face, because while they may deserve to be called out on their questionable attitude, it wouldn't exactly be fair to also throw them to the online wolves face first, so to speak.

Will Shelby Ever Run Out Of Material? Not Likely!

One might think that at some point she's going to run out of material, but that's simply not the case. Not only is she finding some of these on her own, other people are also sending her some monumental online dating fails they've found and would like shared. And these profiles seem to go from bad to worse to wondering if these people are for real in any way, shape, or form.

As she approaches her 100th video in the popular series, she posted a video revisiting some of her all-time faves, so you can catch up a bit before part 99 drops.
