The Scrubs cast is set to reunite in 2020 – but unfortunately, it won’t be on the small screen.
The cast, alongside show creator, director and executive producer Bill Lawrence will appear onstage at the ATX Television Festival, which takes place from June 4-7 in Austin, Texas.
Lawrence will be joined by the beloved cast of the show, including Zach Braff, Donald Faison, and Sarah Clarke. They’ll be gathering onstage to discuss the 10 year anniversary of the show’s finale.
It hasn’t actually been that long since the Sacred Heart Hospital team reunited on stage.
It was only two years ago when they all joined together to attend an event hosted by Vulture, in 2018.
During the onstage interview, the cast revealed juicy secrets from behind the scenes, as well as their reaction to iconic Scrubs moments.
The cast stated that Sarah Chalke (Elliot) was the worst at keeping a straight face while filming, and that Lawrence had to abandon a storyline about medicinal marijuana after the show moved from NBC to the Disney-owned ABC.
As expected, fans went wild over the news that the cast would once again be reunited.
Tweets included, “Whoa whoa whoa! The @ATXFestival added a Scrubs reunion to its list of (already fantastic) programming. I guess this means I’m going to rewatch all of the seasons again… for the 4th time.”
Another fan tweeted, “OMG! Visualization works! Been dreaming of / pestering you with tweets and tipsy requests for a Scrubs reunion since I started coming!”
Another fan stated that he couldn’t afford to attend the whole festival but that he “[had] an organ that will fetch me enough for one day.”
What day of #ATX Television Festival is the #SCRUBS reunion happening? I can't afford to attend the whole festival, but I might have an organ that will fetch me enough for one day. @VDOOZER @zachbraff @sarahchalke @JohnCMcGinley @donald_faison @itisIjudyreyes @ChristaBMiller

Fans shouldn’t get their hopes up about a Scrubs reboot.
Lawrence shut down the idea during the Vulture reunion, stating “I would do anything to get to work with not only this group [but the entire crew]. … It was the best time in my life.”
He added that “sometimes reboots — not all the time — feel like a money grab.”
However, Lawrence didn’t totally shut down the idea. “If we ever do it, we’ll do it as a short little movie or something else,” he said.
“I think the problem from me is I would just want to see where everyone is. I would want to see where their marriages are [as opposed to a huge event].”
The Scrubs reunion is just one of two reunions for Lawrence during the ATX Television Festival.
He’ll also be hosting a reunion panel for his hit show Cougar Town, which starred Courtney Cox and Busy Philipps. While Cox won’t be appearing at the festival, Lawrence will be joined onstage by Philipps, as well as cast members Josh Hopkins, Christa Miller, and Ian Gomez.
The festival will also feature the cast of Parenthood as they team up for a live script reading of the final episode.
