Actress Mira Sorvino is mourning her father's death, Paul Sorvino, who passed away at age 83 from natural causes. Mira made a series of tweets about her grief and how she has always dreaded her parents' death. She also shared her compassion for her fans and anyone who has lost a parent.

Following her tweets, many fans showed her love and support, to which the actress shared her appreciation. When her Dad died, Mira paid tribute to him on her Instagram and Twitter, writing how much she loved him and will terribly miss him in her life.

According to the Sorvino family's press release, Paul died with his wife, Dee Dee, beside him. The iconic actor had dealt with several health issues for the last few years, which were complicated by his age. Earlier this week, Mira mourned her father's death on Twitter, speaking openly about how difficult it is to handle grief and his absence in her life. The 54-year-old Academy winner first tweeted, "I miss you Dad!!!" and then followed up with several tweets.

She wrote, "I have been dreading the death of my parents my whole life. Now in part it has come to pass. I have huge compassion for all who have lost parents. It leaves you unmoored, thrusts you into a position you were unprepared for, without the counsel and love of those you valued most…."

Many fans responded to her tweets, showing the actress love and support. In response to the sweet comments, Mira tweeted, "You all are so sweet, so kind!!!!" adding in another tweet that, "There is true goodness in the world. I feel it; I'm experiencing it hour by hour as unexpectedly, people offer love to help me through my grief. This thread connects us all. Thank you!!!!"

She Wrote A Tribute To Him When He Died

The Sorvino family announced Paul's death on July 25th, and shortly after, Mira posted a tribute and touching statement to him on Twitter. She wrote, "My father the great Paul Sorvino has passed. My heart is rent asunder- a life of love and joy and wisdom with him is over."

The statement continued, "He was the most wonderful father. I love him so much. I'm sending you love in the stars Dad as you ascend." On her Instagram, Mira also expressed her grief, posting a solid black square on her account. Immediately, many friends and fans poured in comments of support and sympathy.

Actor Brian Van Holt commented, "I'm so sorry, Mira. Sending my sincere condolences to you and your family. And healing and love." Comedian Rosie O'Donnell wrote, "Love 2 u and ur family," and actor Gilles Marini wrote, "My deepest condolences."

According to the press release made by the Sorvino family, Paul died with his second wife, Dee Dee Sorvino, beside him. The release also noted that the "Goodfellas" actor "had dealt with health issues over the past few years."

In the release, Dee Dee said, "Our hearts are broken. There will never be another Paul Sorvino, he was the love of my life, and one of the greatest performers to ever grace the screen and stage." She also wrote about Paul's death on Twitter, saying, "I am completely devastated. The love of my life & the most wonderful man who has ever lived is gone. I am heartbroken."

In April, a few months before he died, Mira celebrated Paul's 83rd birthday with a throwback photo of the two of them when she was a child. She posted the black and white photo with "A very Happy Birthday to my father Paul Sorvino. I miss you so much and hope to be together in person very soon!"

Mira and her siblings, Amanda and Michael, are the late actor's kids from his first wife, Lorraine Davis. In the comments section of the birthday post, many of her fans wished her Dad a happy birthday and celebrated his legacy.
