Doherty's Charmed co-stars have reacted to the news of Doherty's cancer. Alyssa Milano, who portrayed Phoebe on the series, sister to Doherty's character, Prue, mentioned on Instagram she was holding Doherty tight in her heart. The two actresses once had a turbulent relationship, thanks to some experiences on the set of Charmed that eventually saw Doherty leave the show after three seasons. However, in 2017, Milano admitted that they had reconciled their differences after a 15-year-old feud. Since then, the two women have been amicable.

Rose McGowan, who joined the Charmed cast after Doherty's departure, also expressed her sadness at hearing about Doherty's new diagnosis. McGowan, who essentially replaced Doherty on the series, was once rumored to also be feuding with Doherty. However, McGowan stated that the feud was more of a contrivance than anything and that she didn't comment on it at the time. McGowan also sent her love to Doherty via a tweet, calling her an "inspiration," while wishing Doherty peace and strength.

There is one Charmed actress who has not yet commented on Doherty's sad cancer news. Holly Marie Combs, who portrayed Piper on the series, has not yet publicly expressed anything about Doherty's current announcement. Although Combs, too, had a feud with Doherty because of on set drama, she does not seem to have any animosity toward Doherty now. It's likely that she is still processing the bad news about her on-screen sister and working out exactly what she wants to say.

Although Doherty's news is sad, the actress has faced it with nothing but courage. This is the second time that she's had to face cancer, but admitting its return publicly was a brave step for her to take, and, hopefully, the love and support she is receiving will help bolster her through this difficult time. Although Doherty admitted that hearing about her cancer returning was "a bitter pill to swallow", she has continued to put on a brave face for the world.
