Accusations Made Against Kate Gosselin Over The Years

Kate Gosselin first gained attention when she and her husband Jon were part of a Discovery Health documentary about raising twins and sextuplets.

Their documentary would help them land new gigs as reality stars on the TLC series Jon & Kate Plus 8.

The show was a hit with fans, who loved watching the adorable children. At first, Kate and Jon seemed like any ordinary couple dealing with the stress of raising so many kids.

However as the series continued, fans began seeing Kate in a different light.

Viewers didn't like how Kate constantly berated her husband, and when the couple announced their divorce in 2009, it came as a shock to no one.

Following her divorce, Kate has been hit with accusations about her personal life and how she's raising her children.

Since her divorce over 10 years ago, Kate has went on a few dates. Her decision to dive back into the dating game was chronicled on the short-lived TLC series Kate Plus Date.

While Kate is trying to date again, none of her dates has led to a serious relationship.

It looks like Kate is having bad luck in the romance department.

Or maybe not.

Since her divorce from Jon, rumors have circulated that she's in a relationship with her bodyguard Steve Nelid.

Reports about the two being an item began back in 2009. The rumored relationship caused controversy because Steve is married, and many believe that Kate's a homewrecker.

Kate has never commented about the rumors, but Steve continues to work for the reality star.

As for the tabloids, they're still speculating on the status of the two's relationship.

Kate's rise to fame began with her reality shows. Thanks to her status as a celebrity, Kate is often invited to talk shows and red carpet events.

Throughout the years, Kate has been hit with accusations of being a fame seeker.

Her ex-husband Jon Gosselin has stated he believes that all the money and fame has changed Kate. He even believes that she's using their kids as part of her plan to stay in the public spotlight.

Kate's estranged brother Kevin Kredier also echoed Jon's beliefs, and has expressed concern over his nieces and nephews.

Whether she's with or without her children, the media follow Kate's every move.

Kate's parenting has been called into question over the years.

During her reality show, viewers often saw Kate yelling at her kids and being a disciplinarian figure. Often she wouldn't let the kids have dessert unless they finished all the food on their plates. In another episode, she threatened to throw away one of Collin's teddy bears after he got gum in it.

In 2009, tabloids published photos of what appeared to be Kate spanking her youngest daughter Leah. Kate has admitted that she spanks her children in order to discipline them, which has many people worried about the children.

While Kate may be a mother of eight, she no longer has custody of two of her children.

Ex-husband Jon Gosselin has custody of Hannah and Collin. Gosselin first gained custody of Hannah in 2018 after the girl requested to go live with her father. A few months later, Jon was granted custody of Collin.

Jon has been very vocal about Kate's treatment of their son Collin. He stated that Kate sent their son away to a facility because of behavioral issues. Jon was concerned about the care his son was receiving at the center and immediately sought custody from Kate.

These days Jon, Hannah, and Collin are one big, happy family. However, it's also bittersweet because Hannah and Collin don't have a relationship with the rest of their siblings.

In a new interview, Jon says that Kate won't allow Collin to have any contact with his brothers and sisters.

It's a sad situation for everyone, but Jon hopes that with enough time, the siblings will be able to repair their relationship.
