She's one of us. As parents across the country say goodbye to their kids who are leaving for college, Brooke Shields, 57, knows how tough it is and how it feels to wave goodbye. In a video she posted on Instagram, the model gets real about how it feels to say goodbye to your child as they "leave the nest."
"I'm not making the drive with her, she's driving with her dad," she said through tears in her video. "It's just too painful. I don't think I could go through the driving away from campus again. So if there's anyone going through this, we're all in it together."

"Second Time is Not the Charm," but she has Tons of Support
The video is documenting Shields' feelings on daughter Rowan, 19, leaving for her sophomore year of college at Wake Forest. Shields is also mom to daughter Grier, 16, with husband Chris Henchy. And while she's been here before, the second time was not any less emotional. "Turns out second time is not the charm when it comes to your baby going off to college," she captioned the video. "Sophomore year, here she comes. I'll be crying if you need me." More than 5,600 comments of support and understanding filled the post. Some famous friends shared their words of wisdom and support for the crying actress.

I'm moving my girl this week, 1st year and I'm happy for her. My heart travels outside my body every time my kids head back to college and grad school. It doesn't get easier, but we are in this together, mama," and many others.
This is a Goal of Parenting
During last year's college drop-off, Shields captioned a photo on Instagram, "My unique and extraordinary baby girl spreading her wings. I love you so. We are so proud of you. This was the saddest drive away from anywhere I've ever had to make. But my baby is BEGINNING one of the most important adventures of her life to date...NOW!"
Before ending her video, Shields reflects on how this is the goal of parenting. "Oh it's so hard, I miss her already. Our babies. This is what you want. You raise them so that they leave you," she said through her tears. At the end of the video was a still photo of Rowan waving as she drove off.
