Singer Jennifer Lopez's upcoming 3-day wedding to Ben Affleck will be officiated by her close friend, Jay Shetty.
Lopez had previously eloped with her beau Ben Affleck in Los Angeles after months of being engaged to the former "Batman" star. Through her newsletter, On The Jlo, she informed her followers of the private wedding and revealed that she had legally changed her last name from Lopez to Affleck.
The happy couple is set to have another wedding over the weekend as their elopement meant many of their friends could not make it. Per reports, Shetty, one of the 53-year-old singer's closest friends, will officiate the follow-up festivity in Affleck's Georgia home.
Jay Shetty Has Known Jennifer Lopez For Years
Page Six recently reported that celebrity life guru Shetty will helm the officiating mic during Lopez and Affleck's forthcoming nuptials festivities. Shetty previously presided over the wedding of Lily Collins and filmmaker Charlie McDowell last September.
The author, who is of British descent, also runs the podcast "On Purpose," where Lopez has previously made appearances. Kobe Bryant, Will Smith, and Gwyneth Paltrow are other notable celebrities who have appeared on the program.
The fact that Shetty is a former Hindu monk and has known Lopez for a long time lends credence to her choice of him as her wedding officiant. She also asked him to officiate four weddings earlier this year as part of a publicity gimmick for her newest film, "Marry Me," which came out in February.
"What an incredible experience it was seeing 4 beautiful couples take their vows," he wrote on Instagram at the time. "Their stories and journeys brought tears to everyone's eyes, and I'm so grateful I got to be a part of it."
Ben Affleck's Residence Will Host The Wedding
Page Six previously revealed that A-list celebrity event planner Colin Cowie is in charge of the opulent celebration's elaborate details. That includes organizing Affleck's home's decor for the occasion, which is said to have cost the pair a fair amount of money.
Affleck's residence in Riceboro, Georgia, is a 4000 acres gorgeous estate with a magnificent mansion designed in a plantation style. Four bedrooms and four and a half baths are located inside the home, which has a two-story design. The property also holds two other smaller houses with additional bedrooms.
An insider shared with Page Six about the second wedding that Affleck wants all the attention on his bride. "It's going to be all about J.Lo. Ben wants all of the focus to be on her for their big day," the source said.
A Lavish Three-Day Wedding Celebration
Lopez's twins Maximilian and Emme, 14, and Affleck's children Violet, 16, Seraphina, 13, and Samuel, 10, are expected at the event. The couple's friends and relatives, including Matt Damon, Jimmy Kimmel, Drea de Matteo, Casey Ben, Leah Remini, Jane Fonda, and Renee Zellweger, are all rumored to be part of the guest list.
According to Page Six, the wedding celebration will last for three days since the couple wants to make a big deal out of the occasion. A rehearsal dinner with family and friends is slated for this Friday, followed by the wedding ceremony on Saturday.
Finally, the pair will hold "a BBQ and picnic" for their loved ones on Sunday. Vogue magazine is rumored to be filming Lopez's weekend in style as she dons a special couture Ralph Lauren outfit produced in Italy.
Jennifer Lopez And Ben Affleck Eloped
Lopez previously shared with fans about her elopement with Affleck. In a newsletter to her fans on July 17, she revealed intimated details about how the event went down in Las Vegas.
"We flew to Vegas, stood in line for a license with four other couples ….all of us wanting the same thing— for the world to recognize us as partners and to declare our love to the world through the ancient and nearly universal symbol of marriage," she said in the newsletter.
Lopez added that they arrived at the "little white wedding chapel" just when the chapel was about to shut down for the day. Luckily, they were given a chance to tie the knot quickly.
She continued: "We read our own vows in the little chapel and gave one another the rings we'll wear for the rest of our lives. They even had Bluetooth for a (short) march down the aisle. But in the end, it was the best possible wedding we could have imagined."
