“Full House” actress Jodie Sweetin recently talked about her wedding in July and how she felt late co-actor Bob Saget‘s presence that day. The actress got married to Mescal Wasilewski in what was her fourth marriage.
In the recent interview, she talked about how another costar, John Stamos, accidentally picked a shirt previously owned by Saget on the day of the wedding. The actress revealed that at the moment, she felt like the actor was with them in spirit.
In the original series and the Netflix spinoff, Saget played the role of Danny Tanner; a loved TV dad. The actor passed away in January this year due to a severe head injury sustained while on tour.
Jodie Sweetin Felt Bob Saget’s Presence

Late actor Saget’s presence was felt during his “Full House” costar, Sweetin’s wedding. The actress tied the knot with Wasilewski on July 30 and talked about one moment during the ceremony where she felt the actor’s presence the most.
The 49-year-old was a part of E! ‘s “Daily Pop” and revealed that although Saget was not physically among the festivities, she felt his spirit there with them. She said, “John was getting ready to leave the house, I guess, and [his wife] Caitlin [McHugh] looked at him and was like, ‘You can’t wear that shirt. That shirt’s not working. It doesn’t look good.’ He’s like, ‘Ugh, fine,'”
Sweetin revealed that Stamos went in to change the shirt, and when he got to the car, he realized that the selected shirt was one of Saget’s.
She continued, “So he goes up to his closet, grabs a black button-up shirt, gets in the car. He’s like, ‘Why is this shirt so big? Why is this shirt so big?’ He realized it was one of the shirts [Bob’s wife] Kelly [Rizzo] had given him out of Bob’s closet, and it was this black button-up that Bob would always wear.” Sweetin said she hugged Stamos, kissed the shirt, and said, “Bob’s here too.”
Jodie Sweetin On What Bob Saget Taught Her

Sweetin, Stamos, and Saget were all a part of the popular sitcom “Full House” between 1987 and 1995. The three actors and most of the show’s cast came together once again in 2016 to reprise their roles in “Fuller House,” the spinoff. The series came to a close in June 2020.
While on “Good Morning America” (via People)early this year, the “UnSweetined” author talked about her relationship with Saget and what she gleaned from him during their times together. She said, “One of the things I learned from Bob and, you know, even now in having to walk through his death and everything is how to laugh through some of the most painful moments of your life.”
The 49-year-old also said the comedian always saw the funny side of situations no matter how dire they seemed. “He never lost the ability to laugh at himself, to laugh at his situation,” Sweetin said. “To make fun of something that would otherwise feel like it was going to break you. That was Bob.”

While talking about her wedding, the actress described it as “perfect” despite Saget’s absence. Sweetin had some of her cast from “Full House” with her on the day: John Stamos, Dave Coulier, Andrea Barber, Candace Cameron Bure, and Lori Loughlin.
Sweetin revealed that her intention for the wedding was for it to have an organic and natural feel, “like a backyard party.” She also said she had her family, closest friends, and friends of her husband in attendance.
She said, “So many of my friends that were there, and my Full House family was there, and my family was there, [my husband’s] godkids and his couple of best friends. Everyone sort of knew each other, so it was like this wonderful family affair.”
Not long after the wedding, Saget’s wife, Kelly Rizzo, posted on Instagram to congratulate the new couple, saying the actor was undoubtedly present for the occasion. “What a honor it was to be there and celebrate your love… I know Bob was right by my side. Love you so much,” Rizzo wrote.
Jodie Sweetin Said Bob Saget Was Missed

Prior to the wedding, Sweetin told People Magazine that the comedian’s absence would be felt at the ceremony. She recalled going through the names of people who could give the speech at the wedding with her mother and thinking of the actor.
Sweetin explained, “My mom and I were actually talking the other day, and she said, of all of this, because we were talking about who’s going to make the speech or whatever. She said, of all the people, I just know that Bob would be one to give us [a speech] … He gave a speech at my first wedding, my 13th birthday.”
She noted other important moments in her life that the actor was a part of and revealed that it was in events like weddings that the sense of loss would be felt more. “Bob has been there through so many moments of my life,” the actress continued. “So yeah, he will definitely be missed, and I know he never liked to miss an opportunity to get up with a microphone.”
