Masked Singer: Who is the Turtle?!

So The Masked Singer is pretty great, the costumes are hilarious, it's clear a ton of thought goes into the celebrities and the costumes chosen for them to wear. It premiered season 3 on Feb 2, after the Super Bowl! So you know people were too full to get off the couch, and ended up watching the season start out.

The turtle is the most popular character for long-time viewers, and fans already have a theory. To be fair, they already have a theory because the turtle has a ton of clues available off the bat. This show has you tearing the way people look to pieces looking for an answer as to who's behind that mask, but that's the fun of it.

The moment the turtle opened his mouth to sing, fans took to Twitter, insisting he's done this before! Not the show, per se, but that he's probably a singer outside of the show. It's fair that they think this, past singers have been singers, athletes, and more.

Oh, so there's a surfboard that's causing so much trouble. Fans are convinced that this surfboard, a pink and blue board, in the turtle's intro package points to a summertime theme--which the entire intro video did seem pretty summery.

They think he's Jesse McCartney! Jesse was not only on the primetime drama Summerland back in the day, but he won multiple awards that were in the shape of surfboards.

Jesse McCartney has released two singles: "Better With You" and "Wasted", and released music videos shortly after.

He's been very quiet since 2006, but has been releasing albums and many hits. So far the tally on his released albums are: 6. There's too many hits to really count (unless you're a hardcore fan, then you probably know).

Anyway, the concept for "Better With You" shows a modern love story, with fate affecting your future. The video on "Wasted" is a spoof on daytime soap operas--which, we know Jesse was a part of two, All My Children and Summertime.

He's still out there, performing and giving tours.

So there are some punk rock elements to the turtle's costume on The Masked Singer that have fans second-guessing Jesse McCartney as the answer. The punk rock style could definitely guide us to the assumption that the person is a rock singer, or perhaps punk-rock singer.

However, we also know the turtle's start in the show business was competitive... there was so much competitiveness around him from other singers. It could mean we're looking at somebody who got their start due to American Idol or The Voice.

However, the package also indicated that the turtle "moved through the business step by step", which is the name of song and album by New Kids on the Block... So is somebody from New Kids on the Block hiding behind a turtle mask?!

Twitter thinks McCartney, they're convinced. It'll be a real twist if it isn't McCartney. I'm not sure some of the Masked Singer conspiracy theorists out there can handle being wrong about the turtle, but all we can do now is wait and see.

This season is already rife with anger, after people found out the robot was voted off.
