Following a thrilling Super Bowl, Jennifer Lopez and Shakira have earned rave reviews for their halftime show. Given the high bar that their performance had to meet, it's impressive that social media has, at least in general, been quite glowing.
While there were plenty of comments that raved about their performances, there were others who were convinced that the pair had been lip-syncing during their performances. "I thought the Lip Sync Battle Halftime Show was pretty good," one user wrote on Twitter.

"Thought it was a Super Bowl Halftime Show, not a Lip Sync for Your Life?," another said. Some users noticed lip-syncing, but thought one of the performers was more guilty of it than the other.
"I see the need to lip-sync a few times but I heard it more from Shakira than JLo in fairness," the user wrote. Other users clearly agreed with this view and made comments suggesting that was the case, even though they love Shakira.

"At least JLo didn’t lip sync," one user wrote, while another said "Shakira is my idol, but this is the first time I’ve seen someone noticeably lip sync at the Super Bowl."
Even for the folks who noticed, it doesn't seem like it was a deal breaker. Instead, it was just one aspect of a performance that was otherwise fairly impressive. After all, who cares if you're singing is live if you're also doing a highly impressive pole routine at the same time?

Ahead of the show, Lady Gaga, who once performed at the Super Bowl herself, said before the performance that she was hoping that all of the singing would be live.
"I better hear no lip-syncing tomorrow!," Gaga said during a show the day before the Super Bowl in Florida.
"I wish so much love and so much luck to everyone that’s doing the halftime show, to both the teams that are playing each other in the Super Bowl," the singer continued. "They’re all champions."

If Shakira and JLo did lip-sync, it's safe to say that Gaga didn't notice or care by the time the performance was over. The singer wrote the following on Twitter after the performance:
". @JLo and @shakira and all the special guests were so incredible!!! What a fun halftime show I danced and smiled the whole time. Such powerful sexy women!!!! On camera and off!!!!! Love you beautiful sexy talented women #SuperBowlHalftimeShow #SuperBowl"
It seems like she was just as stunned as the rest of us.
