Joe Jonas Opens Up About His Use Of Anti-Aging Products
Jonas is trying to further the conversation about men's beauty and grooming, insisting that men should take as much care of their skin as women. As per People magazine, he has partnered with Xeomin, a cosmetic skin injectable brand, to do this.
Xeomin smoothes out the lines in the skin by using a unique formula that targets the unnecessary proteins in the skin. The company and Jonas are working on a "Beauty on Your Terms" campaign to promote the product, especially to men.
Jonas told People, "I don't think it's necessarily something that we have to shy away from. We can be open and honest about it and be confident and not really shy away from speaking our truth."
Joe Jonas' Anti-aging Journey
Jonas recently turned 33 and is very open about his anti-aging and skincare journey. He explained to People that he had found a higher confidence level since he started using the injectables to smooth out his wrinkles and frown lines.
The "Happiness Begins" singer said, "I personally care a lot about what I put in my body, and with an aesthetic treatment like this, I wanted to be mindful of what was in it." Jonas added that he then spoke with the brand and his personal doctors to confirm the product was quality before using it.
He gave his review of the product, saying, "I liked that it relieved the area a little bit, and I was like, 'Okay, this is great,' without it being too much for my liking. I appreciated that it wasn't over the top. It's very light."
He's Embracing His Style
Jonas also spoke about how being so open with his skin, hair care, and style hasn't been easy for him. The star now ensures that he's surrounded by people who encourage him to embrace his true self and do whatever he wants, such as painting his nails and wearing the type of clothes he wants.
He said, "There were all these talks at one point, like, 'Oh, men can't do this or it's weird for guys to do that,' and I think there's a stigma that's fading, and I like that. Guys are more openly wearing makeup, and it's great to see. It's like, do whatever you want, you know? It's a beautiful generation that we're living in."
Joe Jonas Has A Thorough Grooming Routine
During the interview, Jonas also admitted that as the year passed, he put more and more care into his grooming routine. According to him, there are still some "base" products that he has used since he was a young boy, but now he pays close attention to how his products are made and what they're made of.
He said, "I like to learn a little bit more and understand the ingredients that are in products. Everything from deodorant to what's going in my hair to even body lotion and sunscreen. I think I've just smartened up a little bit, maybe researched more. I love how men's grooming has evolved so much."
The "Cake by the Ocean" singer also revealed that he never leaves his house without skincare products, especially when traveling for work. He said, "I have everything in travel size. There's one WOW Hair product that I'm obsessed with, and it doesn't come in travel size. Usually the first stop when I land somewhere is to go buy that product so I have it with me everywhere."
