Oprah Winfrey seems to have her way and terms of doing things, and according to her recent revelation in an interview, she hates Valentine’s Day with passion. She not only opened up about hating the day of love but went ahead to tell the story behind her stand.
Her old boyfriend probably not Stedman Graham changed her perception about the day for good. Everything happened years ago, but she declared that she would never drop the negative connotation whatsoever.

In 1986, Oprah met Graham, who was once the love of her life. However, she confesses that she did not trust her at first. She thought Graham was a nice guy, but something was amiss about him.
She described Graham as a tall and handsome guy who would be there for an ailing friend. Graham was quite attractive, and the thoughts that he was a player came to her mind. Sadly, her producers thought the same too and warned her about it.

She alleged to have taken her friendship with him cautiously, although she later began to give him a thought after learning that he had called it quits with his ex-girlfriend, and was trying to trace her dating status.
The two went on together, with their dating even surviving a broken engagement. Oprah realized that she was not ready for the commitments required in making marriage life work and that her show was the most paramount. She wished to know if Graham saw her worth being his wife, but did not want marriage.

According to Oprah, both Graham and her admit that they would not be together if they had gone ahead to tie the knots. He had created an identity that went beyond just being ‘Oprah’s guy.’
On valentine's day, Oprah recounts when she was a Miss Black American Pageant contestant. She saw girls receive flowers and gifts from their lovers, while her then-boyfriend sent nothing. She went ahead to complain to a fellow contestant who introduced a different ideology to her.

According to the presumably a friend, her boyfriend needed not to present flowers in a vase if he had made it creating flowers in her mind. Although she had first felt low about her boyfriend, it turned out that his ‘inaction’ taught her a meaningful lesson. Her position has remained ever since, and even though she is happy and in love with Graham to date, she is not about to celebrate Feb 14 at all. She never makes the day a big deal as lots of people do.
