Doja Cat has had it with the haters! The singer who recently debuted a shocking shaved hairdo has been a topic of discussion among critics who aren’t appreciating her new look.
However, the rapper is putting an end to all the backlash with an NSFW statement particularly directed at her haters.
Doja Cat Explodes At Haters Who Judge Her Look
On Monday morning, Doja took to Twitter to shut up the critics with a heated lengthy statement. The “Say So” singer didn’t filter her words as she wrote, “I won a grammy and traveled the f**king globe I’ve had a #1, and I went platinum. I make hit after hit after hit, and you all want me to look f**kable for you so that you can go home and jerk your c**ks all day long while you live in your mother’s basement.”
The one-time Grammy Award winner concluded her rant with one message, “Go f**k yourselves.” The tweet has since been retweeted over 18,000 times and received over 194,000 likes from netizens who agree with Doja’s frustration.
Many in the comments supported the “Kiss Me More” rapper’s rant, noting that she was getting bullied because she didn’t succumb to the beauty standards of the entertainment industry.
One fan wrote, “I usually don’t tweet to celebs but I gotta agree. Women get treated horrible out here and you can’t even make a decision about your own damn body without getting judged. I’m sick and tired of sitting here and looking at these comments about people making fun of you.”
A die-hard Doja fan urged, “Go off cause they got the wrong one today your success is what got you here and us fans that support any decision you make in life.”
Others urged the rapper to focus on the positive and the many fans who love her new look and applaud the courage it took for her to make such a decision.
Why Did The ‘Woman’ Singer Shave Her Hair?
Doja’s explicit rant comes as a surprise as the Los Angeles native had previously cleared the air about her decision to go bald and how it had nothing to do with her mental health.
It was believed that her explanation would set the record straight and keep the haters away, but that wasn’t the case. As The Blast reported earlier this month, the 26-year-old went live on Instagram and while chatting with fans shaved off her hair and eyebrows.
In the Live session watched by 20,000 fans, Doja donned a colorful sweater and had dramatic blue eye makeup on as she did the act online. Doja’s shaved look immediately caused an uproar online as many believed she was facing mental health issues.
As you might know, in Hollywood, a shaved look is often synonymous with mental health issues and netizens soon began comparing Doja to singer Britney Spears, who made headlines for her infamous shaved hair in February 2007.
It didn’t also help that in March, Doja opened up about wanting to quit music because of the pressure.
Following the backlash, the eccentric rapper hosted another Live session where she cleared the air about her new look. “I feel like I was never supposed to have hair anyway. I, like, don’t like having hair,” she began her message.
Doja who seemed to be in the right frame of mind explained why she had such a train of thought, saying, “I never liked having hair. I cannot tell you one time, since the beginning of my life, that I’ve ever been like, ‘This is cool. I just do not like to have hair. I remember feeling so f**king exhausted with like working out.”
She cited instances where her hair often made life difficult for her, especially when it came to training and keeping fit. The rapper lamented, “I couldn’t focus because I was more concerned about how I looked. Or how my hair was doing, and how to keep it adhered to my scalp. I just can’t believe that it took me this long to be like, ‘Shave your f**king head…’ It’s just a f**king nightmare!”
Assuring fans that she shaved her hair intentionally, Doja concluded her session noting she was “really liking this!”
