TikTok Star Jax Takes On Victoria's Secret Bodyshaming With A Viral Song & A Flash Mob

As the Daily Mail reported, the 26-year-old singer and dancer took to a Victoria's Secret store in New York to promote her song about the brand, which she had released about three weeks prior to the flash mob.

The video begins with her walking down the sidewalk outside the store before singing and dancing. As the song continues, dancers slowly begin to join her one at a time. The song takes on body image issues, with the lyrics "I stopped eating, what a bummer, can't have carbs in hot girl summer. If I could go back and tell myself when I was younger, I'd say I know Victoria's secret and girl, you wouldn't believe she's an old man who lives in Ohio making money off of girls like me."

Jax made her message of body positivity known, adding plus-sized back-up dancers and even a dancer in a wheelchair to promote her inclusive message. In the comments, she told her millions of followers that she requested dancers with "every body type" to promote her song's "message" of "diversity."

"The issue with toxic commercial body standards is not just the lack of plus-sized representation... it's that one body is highlighted as the 'right' body," she wrote.

Victoria's Secret Manager Was Reportedly NOT Happy With The Flash Mob

As the Daily Mail reported, the Victoria's Secret store manager didn't appreciate her flash mob and called the cops. However, Jax said that she wasn't breaking any laws and the cops allowed her to continue her demonstration.

Jax revealed in a previous video that she wrote the video for a girl she babysits, named Chelsea, who is about to turn 13. In the video, Jax explained that she had picked Chelsea up from the mall where she had gone bikini shopping at Victoria's Secret with friends to prepare for an upcoming party.

However, Chelsea was left "hysterically" crying because a friend told her that she looked "too fat and too flat" in one of the bikinis that she tried on. Jax, who has struggled with eating disorders since age 12, decided to write a song to make Chelsea feel better by taking aim at the clothing brand.

"I wrote a song for you, because when I was your age I had a lot of eating problems and I wish somebody would've said this to me," Jax said in the video.

Even Howie Mandel Appreciates Her Victoria's Secret Video!

Even though the store manager didn't appreciate her flash mob, millions of celebrities and fans did, including America's Got Talent judge Howie Mandel, who commented, "Hey superstar. I love this."

"This is a major accomplishment," another fan wrote. "Musically, lyrically, morally and cinematically, it is a huge triumph. I got teary." Another follower commented, "This healed something big in my heart. Thank you."

"A flash mob and a good message!!" another added. "You're the dream for America's future!"

In a follow-up video, Jax admitted that she never expected the song to be such a viral success in such a short amount of time. She said her intention was never to “take down a brand” and she was hoping that people could relate to her.

She revealed that the video had even attracted the attention of Victoria’s Secret CEO. Even though the brand wants to bring her “into the conversation,” Jax said that she doesn’t want to “be the face of any company’s ‘we’ve changed’ ad” and is asking her followers to make their voices heard.
