Months before her fatal car crash, actress Anne Heche reportedly was accused of failing to keep up payments on a debt financing plan and got taken to court. According to court documents, Citibank sued Heche for failing to make her loan payments.

The suit documents revealed that Heche owed the bank over 60 thousand dollars at the time of filing. The debt was part of her payments for a loan she took to pay for her home with Thomas Jane, her ex-boyfriend.

Heche was recently involved in a fatal car crash after she drove her car into a home in Los Angeles. Her family has now announced that they have taken the actress off life support after doctors confirmed she would not survive her injuries.

According to the official court documents RadarOnline obtained, Citibank sued Heche on March 3rd, 2021, to recover the rest of her debt. The bank claimed they had granted a loan to Heche, and she now owed them over 60 thousand dollars.

The documents also claimed that Heche lived in Los Angeles, in the home she had bought with her ex-boyfriend and actor Thomas Jane. Heche and Jane started dating in 2019, and soon after, they purchased a $1.9 million home in LA’s Silver Lake neighborhood.

The case remained quiet for a while until August 2021, when Citibank officially notified the court that they had reached a settlement agreement with Heche, where she would make payment for her debt in installments.

All seemed well between Heche and the bank until January 2022, when Citibank notified the court that the “John Q” actress had defaulted on the settlement agreement by failing to make the agreed installment payment.

A legal representative for Citibank said, “[Heche] has defaulted on the payment arrangement under the conditional settlement agreement.” They further claimed that the last payment the actress made was in October 2021.

The bank revealed that as part of the agreement, Heche had agreed to pay a minimum of $5,170 every month until she paid back the full $62k. The payments were to begin in June 2021 and end in May 2022 if she had followed up with them.

The agreement between Heche and the bank also clarified that if the actress defaulted on a single payment, the bank reserved the right to demand her to pay the entire balance in full. The suit also stated that Heche had only paid $25k of the debt and still owed a total of $36,161.

Unfortunately, Heche was taken off life support on Friday after she suffered extensive injuries during a car crash. Her doctors confirmed to her family that the “Spread” actress would not recover from her injuries or wake up from her coma.

Heche’s accident occurred when she drove her car into a home in Los Angeles. The actress first hit a garage, then drove into a parked car and again into a nearby house. The crash into the home immediately set her car and part of the home on fire.

Her spokesperson told RadarOnline, “Shortly after the accident, Anne Heche became unconscious, slipping into a coma. She has a significant pulmonary injury requiring mechanical ventilation and burns that require surgical intervention.”

Thankfully, no one was in the home at the time of the crash, and nobody else was injured in the explosion and subsequent fire. The Los Angeles Police have since confirmed that there was cocaine and possible fentanyl in Heche’s system.

She Acted Weirdly Before The Crash

Shortly before the accident, Heche was seen buying a red wig in a hair salon in Venice. The store’s owner, Richard Glass, posted a picture of the actress and explained that she had bought a $125 red wig at 10:25 am.

Glass also confirmed that the “Six days, Seven nights” actress was smiling, acting normal, and “coherent” when she left his store. He told The New York Post, “I didn’t expect — or suspect — anything at all.”

Street surveillance footage also caught Heche as she drove dangerously in the alleyway and almost hit a pedestrian. Heche left behind her two sons, Atlas and Hammer, and the rest of her family.
