Michelle Branch Arrested For Domestic Assault
The domestic disturbance came after she accused him of cheating on her on Twitter.
She published a tweet accusing him of cheating on her while she was at home with their six-month-old baby; however, less than an hour after the tweet went live she deleted it.
When police arrived at their home, Carney didn’t have any visible injuries and Branch was taken into custody.
She was released on a $1,000.00 bond early given that she is breastfeeding their six-month-old daughter.
The couple have two children together.
Branch and Carney are separating after three years of marriage due to his indiscretions.
Branch Accused Her Husband Of Cheating Before Domestic Dispute
TMZ broke the separation news with Branch telling the outlet, “To say that I am totally devastated doesn’t even come close to describing how I feel for myself and for my family. The rug has been completely pulled from underneath me and now I must figure out how to move forward. With such small children, I ask for privacy and kindness.”
On the same day of the assault, Branch took to Instagram to promote her new single, “I’m A Man.”

She shared a video saying, “Thank you everyone for listening to ‘I’m A Man.’ I hope you’re enjoying it so far. It’s a song I wrote about the pressures of being a man in our society and how far we still have to go to make sure that women are equal.”
Interesting the timing of it all. Irony? Coincidence?
Branch captioned the video, “’I’m A Man’ is a song that means a lot to me, especially in these turbulent times as a woman. I’d love to hear what the song has meant to you! Please share a post using the song and #MyOwnDamnBody. (And I might just reshare yours! 💕).
