Like most of his Hollywood cohorts, T.I. is having a difficult time processing the untimely death of Kobe Bryant.

The NBA legend was headed to his Mamba Sports Academy when his chopper crashed into a Calabasas mountainside, killing all nine passengers oboard - including Bryant and his 13-year-old daughter, Gianna.

T.I.'s initial reaction to the tragedy came via an Instagram post which conveyed the same amount of shock felt throughout the world.

"Heartbreakingly painful to hear this.

My family's hearts go out to Mrs. Bryant & their beautiful children. Life's too short man," he began.

The rapper shared a photo of a younger Gianna Bryant sitting atop Kobe's shoulders; a photo of the father/daughter duo that is one of many going viral since Sunday's accident.

You never know..." He finished his post by offering up prayers for the Bryant family.

In a six-part photo series, Tip shared what reads as an open letter to his daughters, presumably prompted by the weekend's helicopter tragedy.

"I love you girls more than my vocabulary will allow me to express. You have grown so much right before my very eyes & blossomed into strong, brilliantly opinionated, independent young women. I'm so proud of you both and I love you to no end, more than you'll ever know. Please forgive me for any and all imperfections that cause misunderstandings between us."

After assuring his daughter's that he will always be there for them, Tip concluded the post by expressing his realization of life's brevity.

"I just can't let another second go by without letting you know while we're still here in this life together."

The Family Hustle star shared some solid parenting advice during a 2015 interview.

"Take time out and plan to listen to the things that are going on in their lives," he told XXL. As we become adults, some things become unimportant to us, but at the time its' the most important things that our kids have to deal with."

Here's a quick Harris family history:

T.I.'s first two children - Messiah Ya'Majesty Harris (19) and Domani Harris (18) - are from his relationship with Lashon Thompson, who was seen on Bravo's Mother Funders. Both boys are involved in the music industry.

His first daughter - Deyjah Imani Harris (18) - was born to R&B singer Ms. Nico in 2001, just three months after the birth of half-brother Domani.

Also in 2001, T.I. met Tameka "Tiny" Cottle. They dated for nine years before they married in July 2010. She had a daughter from a previous relationship, daughter from a previous relationship, Zonnique Jailee Pullin (23).

Tip and Tiny share two sons and one daughter - Clifford Harris Joseph III (15), Major Philant Harris (11), and Heiress Dianna Harris (3). Tragically, their second child (and first daughter) - Leyah Amore Harris - was stillborn in 2007.
