Jennette McCurdy Dishes More Unflattering Details About Ariana Grande

Jennette McCurdy is a treasure trove of unflattering information.

The retired actress’ new book, “I’m Glad My Mom Died,” is filled to the brim with unflattering information about her former “Sam & Cat” co-star, Ariana Grande.

Last week, an excerpt from her book was published in which she described the moment Grande “broke” her.

Now, more details from her book have come out, and Grande is once again the target of McCurdy’s words.

The former actress has expressed several times her negative experience with Nickelodeon, “iCarly” and “Sam & Cat.”

McCurdy claims the “Dangerous Woman” singer was given permission to pursue outside career opportunities, while she personally was denied those opps.

“I booked two features during ‘iCarly’ that I had to turn down because the ‘iCarly’ team wouldn’t write me out of episodes to go shoot them,” she writes.

McCurdy alleges that producers would put Grande’s character into a box so that she could miss filming.

This really set her off.

“Are you. Kidding me,” McCurdy recalls thinking. “So I have to turn down movies while Ariana’s off whistle-toning at the Billboard Music Awards? F**k. This.”

Grande’s entitlement and McCurdy’s unfair treatment led her to SNAP.

“I’m pissed about it. I’m pissed at her. Jealous of her. For a few reasons,” she writes. “So now, every time she misses work it feels like a personal attack. … From that moment on I didn’t like her. I couldn’t like her.”

Another situation involving Grande that contributed to McCurdy’s dislike of her was when she bragged about hanging with Tom Hanks.

In an excerpt obtained by The New York Times, McCurdy writes, “What finally undid me was when Ariana came whistle-toning in with excitement because she had spent the previous evening playing charades at Tom Hanks’s house.”

The excerpt continues, “That was the moment I broke.”

McCurdy has been vocal about her dismay for her time at Nickelodeon and the shows she was involved in.

The actress also alleges she was not allowed to pursue outside work opportunities, while Grande was allowed to do so.

When “Sam & Cat” was canceled in 2014, McCurdy claims she was given $300k in hush money to not publicly speak about her experience and time starring on the Nickelodeon series.

She says she rejected the offer, which is apparent given she’s openly expressed her ill feelings.

Last year, McCurdy opened up about her time on “iCarly” which shot her to fame. “Sam & Cat” was a spin-off of “iCarly.”

She did not rejoin the original cast for the Paramount+ reboot of the hit Nickelodeon show.

During a March 2021 episode of her podcast, “Empty Inside,” McCurdy said she’s leaving acting completely.

It’s a thing of her past.

McCurdy admitted she was “ashamed and embarrassed” of parts she played in the past.

“I was a famous 19-year-old and making a bunch of money, and I felt like I had everything at my fingertips,” she said during the episode. “But I was deeply unhappy, and I actually really resented my life because I didn't like the projects that I was a part of."

She recognizes that the shows she was involved in played a big part in her fans’ childhoods, but that didn’t make it more enjoyable for her.
