Lena Waithe Allegedly Dating Actress, Cynthia Erivo: Did She Move On too Quickly?

Only two months after announcing they are married, Lena Waithe and Alana Mayo have left people in shock after announcing their divorce. The two who currently should be in their wedding bliss and having all the fun are in the middle of a divorce process. Rumors allege that the Queen & Slim director was unfaithful, and her unfaithfulness is the cause of the divorce filed.

Amidst the divorce proceedings, reports have it that Waithe is now dating Cynthia Erivo.

According to reports by PEOPLE, Waithe and Mayo issued a statement together, saying they had resolved to split up after careful thoughts and consideration. However, they declared they will still support each other, and asked fans to respect their privacy.

The two had tied the knots in a secret Courthouse ceremony. Appearing on The Ellen DeGeneres Show in November, Waithe revealed that the two snuck to San Francisco and wedded without making any announcements. She, however, alleged the whole thing was Mayo’s idea.

On Thanksgiving day back in 2017, Waithe made her proposal to Mayo whom she dated three years before the engagement. It was Mayo’s first time to be in a same-sex relationship, and her partner was always open about loving her.

Speaking on The Dave Chang Show, Waithe confessed that Mayo helped to keep her grounded. She always reminds her not to forget taking out the recycling when she gets home from an Emmy win. Waithe believed such actions were quite helpful.

Waithe’s infidelity claims could be real, given that she is now in another relationship. According to what LOVENSCOTT reported, their wedding was a way to appease Mayo, after Lena’s multiple cheating instances. Waithe allegedly agreed to hold the ceremony to salvage the relationship.

She is now alleged to be seeing the Harriet Star, Erivo whom she has known since 2018. The two met in the year and became friends, and the friendship seems to have grown into a romantic affair.

Details about the two surfaced from a twitter account. The user went ahead to post about the new lovebirds, asking if people were aware of the fact that Lena and Erivo were in a secret relationship. The user seemed aware that Lena was married, and surprised that Erivo was a lesbian. According to the twitter post, Erivo and Waithe was seen at the Golden Globes kissing and holding hands.

In 2018, Erivo took to Instagram to express how happy she was to have met Waithe. She described her as everything and declared she was happy to have her in life and how she was completely stuck to her.
