NeNe Leakes says she’s quitting “Real Housewives of Atlanta,” according to Wendy Williams, who revealed the news following a commercial break on her show.
The talk show host shared the news with her audience on Tuesday morning, in the midst of a discussion with her guest, Jerry O’Connell.
“I looked at my phone in between commercials and NeNe texted, ‘I’m quitting [RHOA],’ at 9:08 this morning,” Wendy told Jerry.
The duo had already been discussing “RHOA” prior to the 55-year-old’s shock confession on live TV.
Williams then went on to claim that she knew a secret about the reality star not many people are aware of, and in what appeared to be quite an emotional moment with her audience, Wendy shared that it would bring tears to people’s eyes.
“I’ve got to say something, but I’m not going to say a whole lot,” she gushed, adding, “I know something about NeNe that you all will cry, be sad, feel bad for her — she’s carrying the weight of a huge thing on her shoulders.”
Jerry looked concerned as he shared his feelings about the situation with the mother-of-one, asking Wendy whether NeNe’s secret had something to do with any health problems her husband, Gregg, had faced in recent years.
And though Wendy assured her guest that NeNe was “fine,” she did stress that all could change “if she continues to carry this burden.”
Williams added that, instead of feuding with her co-stars on “RHOA,” NeNe should focus her attention on speaking about her secret, referring to it as “the other part of her life” that’s going to “melt their hearts.”
Private conversations should be left in private! What are girlfriends for if you can’t vent to them on those type of days

Jerry seemed determined to find out what secret NeNe was hiding from the world, but Wendy made it clear that she wasn’t going to share it — she even told the actor that he wouldn’t be able to get it out of her behind the scenes.
Though Wendy Williams has claimed to have received a text from NeNe mentioning her plans to quit the TV franchise, no official word has been given from her team, nor the production team over at Bravo.
Soon after the show aired, NeNe hit back at Wendy's comments by tweeting, "Private conversations should be left in private! What are girlfriends for if you can’t vent to them on those type of days."
NeNe clearly wasn't happy that Wendy had shared personal discussions between the two on her popular daytime talk show.

NeNe is believed to be one of the highest-paid stars on “RHOA,” earning a whopping $2.85 million for season 12.
The 52-year-old previously stepped down from her position as a housewife in favor of becoming a friend to the show, in order to focus on other business ventures outside of Atlanta.
She then went on to leave "RHOA" entirely by season 9 and made her anticipated comeback with frenemy Kim Zolciak in season 10.
