Rapper Juice WRLD died from an accidental overdose of oxycodone and codeine, but his toxicology report also shows he had morphine in his system when he died.
The Cook County Medical Examiner's Office released the investigation report into the rapper's death and it included a complete toxicology report and interviews with people at the scene.
As we reported, the 21-year-old rapper died of an accidental overdose of Oxycodone and Codeine (Sizzurp) -- but he also had Morphine, THC, and caffeine in his bloodstream. Promethazine and Naloxone were also found in his body, one commonly mixed with the codeine and the other is the active ingredient in Narcan.
The Narcan was used on the rapper, through his nose, by first responders trying to revive him after he collapsed. According to the report, the paramedics started CPR and administered multiple doses of Narcan with no change to his condition.
After arriving at the Chicago hospital, Juice was pronounced dead at 3:14 am. Emergency room doctors found 9 loose pills inside his pockets. The pills turned out to be 30 MG Oxytocin, which is commonly used to induce labor. But, it's most likely a typo in the report and could be oxycontin or another opioid.
Tragically, in the report were details of an interview with Juice WRLD's girlfriend, Alicia Leon. She told first responders, according to the reports, Juice WRLD (real name: Jarad Higgins) had just stepped out of the Gulfstream private jet and was waiting in the private hanger when "he let out a gasp and collapsed to the ground."
According to reports, by the time paramedics arrive on scene around 2 a.m. -- the rapper was unconscious on the floor and bleeding from his nose and his mouth. According to the report filed by the Chicago Fire Department pills were scattered around him and Narcan was being administered by officers. Interestingly, the report says Juice WRLD was wearing black nail polish with a "white cross" on both middle fingers.
As we reported, witnesses say Juice WRLD was taking Percocet's when the group arrived in Chicago, possibly to get rid of the evidence.
Chicago police and federal agents say 70 pounds of Weed was found inside the airplane, packed in vacuum-sealed bricks. They also found six bottles of prescription codeine, two 9mm handguns, one 40 caliber pistol, and "metal-piercing bullets."
Two members of the rapper's security team was charged with possession of the weapons.
Juice WRLD's family posted a message on the late rapper's Instagram when the news broke of the overdose details, thanking his fans for all of the support over the years. His team and family also announced there will be a public service for him in Chicago in the near future. Details were not yet made public.
Juice was very vocal about his struggle with drug addiction, specifically abuse of the popular street drug Sizzurp aka Lean.
