Gigi Hadid Gives Sneak Peek At Her Newest Venture, 'Guest In Residence'

Gigi Hadid is ready to add another skill to her resume and is giving her Instagram followers a sneak peek into her newest project. In a carousel of photos posted on Thursday, Hadid shows a glimpse into her new job as a fashion designer while working on her own clothing line called, "Guest in Residence."

Hadid, 27, posted photos of her behind-the-scenes process and sample pieces captioned, "been working on something...with love @guestlinresidence." Photos included in the post showed Hadid hard at work checking out cashmere swatches and styles, as well as bits and pieces of the design process. The photos show that the new brand is focusing on knitwear and cashmere.

Hadid also updated her Instagram bio to read, "founder, creative director @guestinresidence." Her clothing line's Instagram page has no posts yet but already has nearly 9,000 followers.

Diving head-first into the world of clothing designing isn't exactly new territory for the busy mom of 23-month-old daughter Khai, who she shares with ex Zayn Malik. Earlier this year, the supermodel announced that she is teaming up with a childhood friend, Francesca Aiello, founder of Frankies Bikinis, for a new swimwear collection.

The two long-time friends grew up together in Malibu, California. "We designed this collection with so much love, and I believe that really shines through in the details," Hadid said in a press release. "Both Frank and I have very social lives but also are big homebodies, and the collection really embodies that side of us." People reported in April of this year that the 98-piece collection would be released in two drops - one in May and one in June and includes a variety of swimwear and loungewear.

Comments on Hadid's new clothing line announcement were positive and supportive, with Aiello being one many well-wishers, commenting with a heart-eye emoji. Pal Hailey Bieber also showed her support with, "So excited about this," and sister Bella Hadid commented, "What we've all been waiting for" followed by hearts.

Hadid has been in the world of fashion her entire life with a modeling career that began at the age of two with Baby Guess. She signed with IMG in 2011 and has worked for all the major design houses. In 2014, she made her debut in the Top 50 Models ranking at Models.com, and in 2016, she was named International Model of the Year by the British Fashion Council. She's appeared on many magazine covers and runways over the years.
