Did Aaron Rodgers just throw some subtle shade at his ex-fiancée, Shailene Woodley?
The Green Bay QB recently appeared on the “Aubrey Marcus Podcast.”
During his appearance on the pod, he opened up about his ex-girlfriend, Danica Patrick, and their relationship.
Aaron Rodgers Makes Rare Statement About Ex- Danica Patrick
This was a very rare and unexpected move for the football star.
Patrick is famous in her own right, as she is a former American professional racing driver. She is the most successful woman in the history of American open-wheel car racing. Her victory in the 2008 Indy Japan 300 is the only win by a woman in an IndyCar Series race, per Wikipedia.
Rodgers explained the two shared a mutual interest in spirituality.
“I was dating Danica, and that relationship was great for me because she is on her own journey and spirituality is important to her,” he explained. “We both were finding our way, learning about different things [and] practicing meditation techniques.”
The Former Lovers Shared A Mutual Interest In Spirituality
The former couple started dating in 2018 and were very public with their relationship. They made their first public appearance as a couple at the Daytona 500 in February ’18.
She attended the ESPYS in July of that same year where they packed on major PDA.
However, two years after their love story began, it came to an end in July 2020.
A rep for Patrick confirmed the split in a statement which read, “I can confirm that Danica and Aaron are no longer together.”
Not long after their split, Rodgers was dating “The Fault In Our Stars Actress.” By February 2021, Rodgers and Woodley were engaged.
The former couple got together during quarantine, so their relationship was very “hush-hush.”
Rodgers announced the secret engagement during his MVP award speech at the 2020 NFL Honors.
Rodgers Moved On Quickly From Danica With Shailene Woodley
Rodgers said, “2020 was definitely a crazy year filled with lots of change, growth, some amazing, memorable moments. One hundred-eighty straight days of having my nose hair scraped, a plan for very little fans or no stands the entire season, I got engaged, and I played some of the best football of my career."
The couple sometimes posted each other on their social media accounts, but were rarely spotted in public together.
Woodley made very few comments about her relationship with the star QB. She did admit being with him was a “whole new world.”
Unfortunately, the couple didn’t really see eye-to-eye on a number of things. Namely, the COVID-19 pandemic and vaccine.
More than a year after their surprise engagement, the couple called it quits for good.
Rodgers has not mentioned Woodley, or the impact their relationship had on him. Maybe it’s too soon for him to directly address it.
Woodley on the other hand opened up about having her head and heart nurtured.
In a June 29 post she wrote, “to the month of june : putting macro whack world events aside for a minute, on a micro level, you nurtured this woman’s head + heart. you gave me oxygen in the form of friends, babies, trees, magic, DANCING, animals, salt, sun, deep conversations, six packs from laughing, availability in the form of tears, PLAY, sunrises, hallway tag, goofiness, spontaneity, pita bread (so much pita!), hellos and goodbyes.”
