Heather Rae El Moussa is missing out on a family vacation to Mexico, but for a good reason. “Doctor’s orders” have kept the pregnant reality star at home as a cautious measure. A rep for Heather told People that the decision to skip out on the trip came due to the risk of the Zika virus and food poisoning. Heather, 34, also shared, “It’s not worth getting sick. Chances that you can avoid, you should. Unavoidable exposures are different.”
Family Getaway Minus Heather
Heather’s hubby, Tarek El Moussa, 40, went on the trip to Cabo with his two kids, Brayden, 6, and Taylor, 10, who he shares with his ex-wife Christina Hall, as well as a number of family members. He posted a group photo on Instagram discussing the fun Mexico getaway.
“Family trips to Cabo are always a good idea. Staying in a villa with my entire fam and our kids and having a blast. Experiences like these are nothing without your family or close friends to share them with. So if you need the El Moussa fam, we’ll be here. Just missing @heatherraeyoung like crazy but doctors orders come first!!”
Heather, of course, left a comment on the post, “Miss my family and love you so much baby.” Comments were supportive of the pregnant star and agreed she did the right thing by staying behind. Many people asked why Heather wasn’t there, showing concern for the mom-to-be. A few even noticed that her parents are also in the photo.

How Heather is Spending Her Time at Home Alone
In a post on Heather’s Instagram page, she had some fun looking at nursery designs and asking her followers for some opinions. “Missing @therealtarekelmoussa and the kids so much while they’re in Cabo but trying to use this time to do some nesting and planning. Now that I know we’re having a little baby boy, what do you guys think of this design and details for the nursery room?” she captioned a carousel of nursery design snaps.

With more than 9,000 comments, it looks like Heather has something to keep her busy while the family is away. Her followers were dropping numbers in the comments of which nursery design they liked best, and at quick glance it appeared that number four was a popular choice.
The couple were in the middle of the in vitro fertilization process when they got the huge surprise that they were expecting. The “Selling Sunset” realtor has been open about the process, and how the pregnancy took the couple by surprise. They recently found out during a gender reveal party surrounded by friends and family that they are having a boy.
Keeping Up with Their Busy Lives
Life is busy for the couple, who in addition to working on their own projects are also coming together for one. They are currently in the middle of filming their new HGTV docu-series “The Flipping El Moussas.”
