Legendary musician and the unofficial 'comeback queen' of 2022, Kate Bush, celebrates her 64th birthday today; an important day her fanbase is wholeheartedly celebrating on social media!
Bush, who released her first LP "The Kick Inside" back in 1978, has been in the music business since her teenage years. The now 64-year-old has been responsible for taking her fans and listeners on a whimsical musical journey for nearly four decades.
Famous for her songs about literary works, ("Wuthering Heights"), and her habit of writing from an underrated perspective, (a worried husband and father-to-be in "This Woman's Work"), Bush's work recently made its way into the spotlight via Netflix's massively successful "Stranger Things" after her 1985 single "Running Up That Hill" was featured in the series' latest season.

In their caption, they wrote, "When I got rid of most of my albums 25 years ago, I also got rid of most of my albums 25 years ago, I also sold all of my 45's except my Kate Bush collection. I've been slightly obsessed since 1979. I hope all the fresh fans that 'Stranger Things' have brought spend the time to dig deeper into her incredible catalouge..."

"Stranger Things" has certainly brought Bush to many viewers' radars, and has made countless new fans out of curious listeners!
Not everyone has been receptive to "Running Up That Hill" and Bush's newfound success.
The Blast recently reported director Taika Waititi's passionate response to Bush's introduction to a new generation.
Waititi claimed to "feel a real ownership to Bush's music," and revealed he feels "really annoyed" by the prospect of fans claiming to love Bush's music, despite only having heard the "Hounds Of Love" track.
"I've become one of those old arseholes who's like: 'These kids have never listened to Kate Bush, they've heard one song on a TV show! They don't know Kate Bush! I know Kate Bush!" he shared.
Bush, however, feels really thankful for "Stranger Things" creators, The Duffer Brothers, and their decision to include "Running Up That Hill" in the show.
"By featuring 'Running Up That Hill' in such a positive light- as a talisman for Max (one of the main female characters)- the song has been brought into the emotional arena of her story..." Bush wrote in a recent blog post on her website.
The complete fourth season of "Stranger Things" is now streaming on Netflix!
