Dove Cameron's Ex-Fiancé Alleges That She Cheated On Him

Dove Cameron's ex-fiancé, Ryan McCartan, allegedly came clean and admitted that the Disney star broke his heart and cheated on him.

The former couple was previously engaged but their 2016 breakup shocked fans. Apparently Ryan was the most shocked of all. McCartan was answering questions via Instagram on Thursday when a curious fan asked him what his proudest moment was? His answer may have divulged information about his relationship with Dove that no one has ever admitted.

"Within two weeks, my fiancée cheated on and left me, I almost died from food poisoning, and Donald Trump was elected president," Ryan wrote. "I truly didn't think I would be able to make it through that part of my life. I'm proudest of the light that came from that darkness, and my ability to survive and turn the anger and sadness I had into positive life changes and a new way forward."

Wow! Now, we may be jumping to a conclusion but it is pretty safe to assume he is speaking about Dove. One hint is that they broke up in 2016 and President Trump was elected around the same exact time.

McCartan broke the news about the end of their relationship on Twitter at the time and he clearly noted that it was Dove's decision.

"Dove has decided this relationship isn't what she wants. We still love each other very much. Please be sensitive, as this is painful," Ryan tweeted.

He seemed upset but asked his large following to take it easy on the "Descendants" star.

Dove also addressed the breakup online and thanked fans for being supportive.

"Thank you for your support & full hearts in this very intense & human time. There's a lot love between Ryan & I. Life is beautiful & long," she wrote.

Dove has been going strong with her "Descendants 2" co-star, Thomas Doherty for several years but they first started getting romantic in 2017... the same year the movie premiered on The Disney Channel.

It is safe to assume that the filming of the hit TV movie took a few months. Dove and Ryan broke up in October 2016. Thomas and she started sharing romantic photos on Instagram as early as June 2017. With that information, several fans assumed that Dove cheated on Ryan with Thomas but nobody has confirmed if that was the case.

Dove recently broke down in tears when talking with Entertainment Tonight about finding love with Thomas.

She got a little teary-eyed when the news outlet showed her a video of Thomas saying that dove is "the most incredible person I've ever met."

"I cry, like, every day when I'm with him because... he's just the most pure, loving, selfless, generous, kind [person]," she told ET. "His life is about the people that he loves and I feel so lucky to be loved by someone like that."

She also discussed a possible long time future with her co-star.

"I go back and forth on whether that is a thing that I even want to do," she admits of marriage. "I think, if I'm going to marry anyone, it's going to be him."
