He's photogenic with big, dreamy eyes, and a happy vibe about him. And his owner isn't too bad either.
Dodger, a boxer mix, gets all the attention on his human's Instagram page. Actor Chris Evans, 41, is clearly a dog lover and has recently joined forces with the dog food brand Jinx.
Partnering with Jinx is Dodger Approved
As part of the partnership with Jinx, Evans will play an "active role in the business and creative direction of the brand," according to a press release from the company. Evans first became a customer when looking for a safer dog food option for his furry bestie. "I was thrilled to find Jinx - a food Dodger loves to eat and that I know is safe and healthy for him. I'm excited to come on board and help grow awareness for the company so all dogs can have the highest quality food possible at an accessible price point," Evans explained.
The "Dog Lunatic" has such a Great Love for Dogs
Evans adopted Dodger while filming the movie "Gifted" back in 2017. "One of the last scenes we were filming was in a pound, a kennel. I foolishly walked in, and I thought, 'Are these actor dogs, or are these real up-for-adoption dogs?" Evans told People. "And sure enough, they were, so I was walking up and down the aisles and saw this one dude, and he didn't belong there."
The shelter said the pup was about a year old and had the energy of a puppy, and the rest was history. "I snagged him, and he's such a good dog," he said shortly after adopting him. "He loves dogs, he loves kids, he's full of love." The actor is a self-proclaimed "dog lunatic" and does everything with Dodger. They play, sleep and exercise together. "Playing with him is exercise, he's exhausting. He's up for anything. God dogs, they're such great animals," he said. " I really can't say enough about dogs, I'm a dog lunatic. He sleeps on my pillow, you wake up face-to-face."
Don't Expect Dodger to get his Own Social Media Account
In the years since he adopted his best friend, Dodger has become well known to Evans' more than 17 million Instagram followers. He shares adorable pics of his pup often, and it's super obvious that everyone just loves it. When asked if he would consider starting another Instagram page just for Dodger, Evans said it's out of the question for now. "What the hell would I post on my account? I need to have something to put on mine," he laughed. "Not only would that be too much work for me, but I wouldn't have enough stuff for my own page."
Partnering with Jinx was a "No Brainer" for the Actor
So it seems only natural for the "Captain America" actor to partner with Jinx. He's sharing his passion for dogs to help other dog owners searching for dog food and treats. "You're always looking for things like this in my profession, finding companies or products that align with your passions, and obviously everyone knows how much I love dogs," he told People. "Meeting with everyone at Jinx, they not only share the passion, but they have a fantastic product that my dog loves, so it was kind of a no-brainer."
Evans recently posted a photo on Instagram of him feeding Dodger some Jinx food and captioned it, "The best dog food for the best dog around! Excited to join Jinx in redefining dog nutrition with better, healthier food for dogs. This is just the beginning." A commercial campaign with Evans is planned for later this year.
Jinx prides itself on its "transparent approach" to real, nutrient rich superfood ingredients that are free from fillers and preservatives. Their product line includes dog kibble, treats, dental chews and dog toppers. Jinx is also backed by other celebrity investors - Trevor Noah, Odell Beckham Jr., Halsey, and Zachary Quinto.
