Robin McGraw, Dr. Phil McGraw's wife, had an eyebrow transplant -- not recently, but she's speaking out now about how it changed her look.

McGraw recently spoke on her podcast, "I've Got a Secret! with Robin McGraw," about the procedure, which she had in June 2011.

McGraw said she did the procedure because she didn't like the look of her eyebrows. Apparently they were too sparse.

"To this day, I have eyebrows that I just love," she says now.

“It brought my entire face into proportion. And in my opinion, it actually changed my look," she told her guests on the podcast. Her guests happened to be hair-restoration specialist Dr. Marc Dauer and hairstylist Lee Rittiner.

Dauer performed McGraw's surgery in 2011, and it certainly sounds like a hair-raising procedure. According to People, Dauer removed a tiny piece of her scalp and took out the hair follicles to graft into the eyebrows.

Dauer spoke about the procedure on the podcast, saying it can be done through something called Follicular Unit Extraction, a method that's non-invasive.

Dauer explained just how important good eyebrows are.

"Eyebrows are such a defining feature of the face…They're so crucial to framing your face. If they start too far over or if they're just missing in different places, it just changes your whole look."

According to Dauer, when people see others who have had work done to their eyebrows, they're not quite sure how to explain how the person looks different, just that they do.

"People come to them and say, 'You look younger' or, 'Did you lose weight?' They can't pinpoint it," Dauer said.

Dauer continued:

“Eyebrows are such a defining feature of the face…They’re so crucial to framing your face. If they start too far over or if they’re just missing in different places, it just changes your whole look.”

Closer Weekly tested this phenomenon even further.

The publication asked Dr. Vartan Mardirossian, a facial feminization surgeon, about McGraw's updated look in 2018. He couldn't figure it out.

"Whatever she has done, it was done well so it is not obvious! She's possibly gotten an upper and lower [face lift], cheekbones fillers or fat grafting or cheek implants."

Closer Weekly also asked Dr. Andrew Miller, a plastic surgeon, about what he saw, and he was going all over the map to try to pinpoint what McGraw did to look differently.

"It doesn't look like she has had much [work done].

Possibly some fillers to enhance the cheeks because they are a bit fuller and Botox to the forehead because the brows are a bit lower — Botox can weaken the forehead muscles, causing the brow to drop a bit."

Clearly, McGraw had some pretty good work done.
