Britney Spears Tugs Down Bikini Bottoms & Instagram Zeros In With Hygiene Request

Britney Spears is back in a bikini. The "Toxic" singer made headlines for kicking 2020 off in the world's tiniest purple bikini, and it looks like the 38-year-old has kept the vibe up.

Late last night, Britney updated her Instagram with a double set of bikini snaps. The predominant theme in the comments section hasn't been about the swimwear, though.

Two photos showed the famous blonde posing on her home balcony in a seriously tiny and snakeskin bikini. Spears had also upped the ante in her opening snap – if you're wearing bikini bottoms, why not tug them down, right?

Both photos showed Britney in the way that's become the norm. That's a yes to long, tousled, and somewhat messy hair, plus the signature smokey dark eye-makeup that seems to have driven Britney's fans a little nuts.

"Fire her makeup artist," one fan wrote.

"Please lose the eye makeup up," another said.

"No more new year's res in sight for Britney and her hygiene" was another comment.

Even responses picking up on Britney's "Can't wait for spring" caption seemed to be zero'ing in on the makeup.

"Thinking a little eyeliner spring cleaning? Praying for you girl," a user said.

This wouldn't be the first time that Britney's non-removed eye makeup has caused a stir –a video with boyfriend Sam Asghari last year did just this.

Instagram has handy features. The ability to like a comment – or not – is a pretty good indicator of what people do (or don't) agree with.

In Britney's case last night, it did seem that some users were liking comments pointing towards Britney's mental health.

"You look out of it" was a comment racking up over 53 likes.

Then again, a reply to that comment went straight back to the eyeliner – "I think it's the eyeliner prob lol," a fan replied.

A more serious response did come in, though – a fan stated that Britney had a "crazed" look.

Britney's post did generate a ton of love, despite the many users begging that Britney become acquainted with a makeup wipe.

"Beautiful," one fan wrote, with another calling Britney "Queen of never forgetting her eyeshadow and choker."

As to the overall likes, this girl 100% knows how to rake in the engagement. The singer's post managed to rack up over 450,000 likes overnight, also getting a like from "Slide Away" singer Miley Cyrus.

Britney is eyeing up some big stuff this year, also having revealed her New Year's resolutions on social media.

"In 2020 I will be doing a lot more acro yoga and the basics for yoga …. I’m a beginner and it’s kind of hard to let go …. learning to trust and letting someone else hold your body ? !!! I have a lot of things I keep bottled up so I have to keep my body moving !!!! Thank God for Mother Nature …. she’s really no joke …. she grounds me and helps me find my feet and always opens my mind when I step outside …. !!!! I was lucky today with this beautiful weather."
