Elon Musk Allegedly Had An Affair With Google Co-Founder Sergey Brin's Wife

Billionaire Elon Muskis again making headlines for all the wrong reasons.

According to a bombshell report published on Sunday by the Wall Street Journal, Google co-founder Sergey Brin filed for divorce after he learned that his wife had cheated on him with the Tesla CEO.

The news is even more devastating when one considers that the two have been friends for a long time. Musk’s electric car company, Tesla, was supported by Brin during the 2008 financial crisis. Brin gave Musk at least $500,000 dollars in funds when Tesla was struggling to increase production amid the economic downswing. At the time, Musk later tried to repay Brin by giving him one of Tesla’s first all-electric SUVs.

Musk even admitted that he regularly stayed at Brin’s home in Silicon Valley for years, until he had a brief affair with Brin’s wife, Nicole Shanahan, last year.

A person close to Shanahan told the Wall Street Journal that the couple was separated but still living together at the time of the affair last December. In January, Brin had filed for divorce, citing “irreconcilable differences.”

At the time, Sergey Brin also told his financial advisors to liquidate his investments in various Musk companies, including Tesla.

Elon Musk has yet to respond to this latest news, but Twitter has been extremely vocal about this latest development, especially when it was recently announced that he welcomed twins with one of his top Neuralink executives only a few weeks ago.

As one user put it, "At the same time Elon’s then recent ex-girlfriend [Grimes] had just given birth to his only known daughter and his longtime employee had just given birth to his twins, Elon was having an affair with one of his best friend’s wives."

Many users took to Twitter to call out the SpaceX founder. One user pulled up an old Musk tweet from May 7, 2013, which read, "Am a fan of Larry, Sergey & Google in general, but self-driving cars comments to Bloomberg were just off-the-cuff. No big announcement here."

"You turned out to be an even bigger fan of Segrey's Wife," one user tweeted.

UK's Samuel Carvalho said that his respect for Elon Musk is slowly eroding due to the various scandals that have erupted around Musk in recent months.

"I’m sorry but my respect for Elon Musk @elonmusk is dropping more and more every week," he tweeted. "Absolutely idolised the guy, loved the book on him because of what he’s achieved + his work. Now even being a fan of SpaceX, Tesla, Starlink, Neuralink etc. has negative vibe because of him."

After WSJ journalist Emily Glazer tweeted the news, one user responded with a pregnant photo of Brin's wife, with the caption, "Of course, the question he has to ask now is..."

Music writer and producer David Choi tweeted, "Very sad that @elonmusk threw away such a great friendship with Sergey over his sexual desires. Why he chose his good friend’s wife over anyone else baffles my mind."

He added, "Shanahan requesting more than $1 billion for her infidelity?! Outrageous…" The Wall Street Journal noted that Brin is worth about $95 billion dollars.

"At some point it might just be easier to count who hasn’t been in a sex scandal with Elon Musk (or his dad)," another user tweeted. Of course, Elon Musk's name has seeped in scandal due to his highly public lawsuit between him and Twitter. Although he signed a $44 billion dollar deal back in April to buy the social media company, Musk wants to "terminate" their agreement, citing the number of bot and spam accounts on the platform.
