Kristin Cavallari Said She Wasn’t Ashamed Of Her Weight Gain
Cavallari just disclosed her reason for posting her weight gains on social media. The podcast host appeared in an interview with Insider and revealed that she worked hard on her body after having her children and was not ashamed of it in the slightest.
The 35-year-old previously posted bikini pictures on her Instagram page showing her glutes gains. The post also included some before pictures where she looked noticeably smaller. Cavallari revealed that she was under a lot of stress at the time, which was attributed to the weight loss. In her caption, she claims she couldn’t “even recognize the girl in those other 2 photos.”
Via her Insider interview, she said, “I am 35; I’m a mom to three kids. That doesn’t mean that I can’t show off my body and be proud of it. I’ve gained a lot of muscle weight. I work really hard on my body, and I think that’s something to celebrate, not something to be ashamed of.”
Her Worries About Young Girls
Cavallari revealed that the reason she posted the pictures was to go against the societal norm that saw losing weight as better than gaining. The jewelry designer said, “I also think there need to be more conversations around gaining weight rather than everyone always trying to be so thin.”
Cavallari also spoke about her daughter and how she thinks that the accepted body image was making things difficult for people, mainly growing girls. She described it as “warped” and hoped for a conversation on the matter in the near future.
She said, “This idea of body image is just so warped, and I just worry about these young girls, and so I think it just needs to be a bigger conversation about being OK gaining weight and not focusing on a number on the scale.”
She Is Laying The Groundwork For Her Children
Cavallari currently has three children from her previous marriage to Jay Cutler; Camden Jack, who is nine; Jaxon Wyatt, eight, and her six-year-old daughter, Saylor James. The 35-year-old revealed that one of her motivations for posting her pictures was to show her children the difference between real and fake in a world where the latter was more accepted.
She revealed that her position as part of the press has helped her win opportunities to talk to her children candidly. “When, if I wasn’t, I probably wouldn’t have had these conversations yet, but they see firsthand how not everything on the internet or on TV is real.”
The “Laguna Beach” podcast host continued, “I’m able to start laying the groundwork now when they’re so young. I think actually my kids have a pretty good grasp on social media, the internet TV, I think, I think that is a very good thing.”
Kristin Cavallari Is Using Instagram As A Dating App
In an episode of the “Not Skinny But Not Fat” podcast, Cavallari revealed her method for responding to DMs on her Instagram. The reality star told the host, Amanda Hirsch, that she only responded to messages from verified accounts.
The 35-year-old revealed that she had no intention to settle when dating, and her method has worked fine for her thus far. She said that she found it easy vetting Instagram verified accounts and that she wanted a businessman that wasn’t famous.
Cavallari said, “I can’t filter through all of my DMs [direct messages], but I can see those blue checkmarks, honey! I don’t like people that often, and I’m pretty picky, I guess, but I’m not gonna settle. I’m gonna stay picky.”
