Teresa Giudice made a big revelation on the most recent episode of "Real Housewives of New Jersey" that her 1999 wedding with husband Joe almost got called off because she did not want to sign a prenuptial agreement.
Joe is currently in U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement detainment while he is appealing a judge's decision to have him deported after pleading guilty to a felony. Him and Teresa got into a fight of money, and that's when she blurted out the prenup issue.
"You made me sign a prenup, OK!" Giudice yelled at Joe after he accused her of spending all of his money.
Later, in a confessional with the camera, she said, "A week before we were getting married, Joe asked me to sign a prenup and I just felt when you love someone, you don't do that."
She then explained that things were too far along to call them off at that point. "Being Italian, I have old school parents, and it's an embarrassing thing to call off a wedding," she said.
"I didn't even read it, I just said, 'I want you to put one thing in there. If you ever cheat, the prenup is void,'" she said, noting the one clause she made him add to the agreement.
The couple went on to have four children: Gia, 18, Gabriella, 15, Milania, 14, and Audriana, 10.
Joe and Giudice have both served time in prison for mail, wire and bankruptcy fraud. He was recently released after a 41-month sentence, and was then ordered to be deported to Italy because he never became an American citizen.
It was reported by PEOPLE last month that while the two will not be getting a divorce, they did make the decision to separate.
"They agreed that each had to move on," the insider told the outlet. "They are doing so amicably and very slowly. Joe has been out on a few dates, Teresa has not. She has been too busy with the girls, with work obligations and taking care of her father. She is happy for Joe. They have been very friendly with one another and are very supportive of each other's happiness. They still love one another, but ... neither is interested in a long distance relationship."
