Ozzy Osbourne's daughter Kelly decided to close out 2019 by making a personal announcement on Instagram. The star admitted to having a problem with alcohol and made a commitment to stay sober in the new year.

The caption to the post was accompanied by a series of images from Osbourne in 2019. The lengthy caption also explained her decision to stay sober at great length. It's the kind of New Year's resolution that should empower and inspire a number of people.

"2019 has been one hell of a year. In many ways, it has been amazing especially in terms of self-growth. In many ways, it has been gut-wrenchingly difficult," Osbourne wrote in the post. "However, through all the good and bad it has been incredibly educational for me. I have come to the realization that I constantly put the needs of others before my own. I allow myself to be put in situations that make me feel uncomfortable for fear of upsetting someone else.

"Not forgetting the number of times I co-sign the bulls— of others," Osbourne continued. "With almost 2 1/2 years of sobriety under my belt, I still struggle with confrontation (which was NEVER a problem when I was using) Well this all STOPS today. 2020 is going to be the year of me!!! It’s time to put myself first, stop taking on other people’s shit and be the badass sober women I was born to be. [Happy New Year] I love you guys"

This announcement is coming on the heels of reporting that Kelly's father Ozzy Osbourne is on his death bed. "Ozzy is in chronic pain and begging to be put out of his misery!" one source told Radar Online. "He’s in such bad shape that he didn’t even notice Sharon wasn’t there."

Ozzy's wife Sharon didn't celebrate the holidays with him. Instead, she was in England with Kelly for a work commitment. Ozzy was apparently unable to fly, which meant that they had to separate.

Earlier in 2019, Ozzy experienced a medical emergency after falling in his home. Apparently, the fall dislodged metal rods that had been placed in his back following a 2003 motorcycle accident.

While many fans are worried about the rocker, his wife is not one of them. "The thing is, why be so like, 'crazy train?' How disrespectful to anyone...I'd just like to say something, Ozzy ain't going nowhere," Sharon Osbourne said on an episode of The Talk that aired in October.
