Actress Jane Lynch is showing her support for former "Glee" costar Lea Michele.
Earlier this week, Deadline reported that Jane Lynch and Beanie Feldstein are leaving the Broadway production of "Funny Girl." Lea Michele will replace Feldstein as Fannie Brice and Tovah Feldshun will replace Lynch's role as Mrs. Brice.
Although fans were hoping for a "Glee" reunion on Broadway, Lynch told the outlet that there's a reason that it's not happening.

Lynch told Deadline that she and Michele "have been in touch about" their respective exits, but in the end, they decided it was best to "have Feldshuh and Lea premiere together."
"That’s the only reason [we won’t appear together.] I adore her," Lynch continued. "She’s just going to take this show and make it her own. I’m so glad she’s getting the opportunity in real life to do the show and not just on Glee.”
Michele's character on "Glee," Rachel Berry," was obsessed with the production on the show.

As one user tweeted, "Jane Lynch leaving the cast of Funny Girl just as Lea joins is the Gleest thing to ever Glee since the EXACT same thing happened on the show."
Beanie Feldstein Exits 'Funny Girl' Production Earlier Than Planned
Beanie Feldstein had assumed the role in April. Although she had initially planned to leave on September 25, she made the "extremely difficult decision" to step away on July 31 after the "production decided to take the show in a different direction."
As Feldstein wrote on Instagram, "Once the production decided to take the show in a different direction, I made the extremely difficult decision to step away sooner than anticipated. I will never forget this experience and from the bottom of my heart, I want to thank every single person who came to the August Wilson for the love and support you have shown me and our amazing cast and crew."
Although Lea Michele won't be able to take over the role until September 6, Feldstein's understudy, Julie Benko, will take over the role between July 31 and September 6.
However, it seems that not everyone is looking forward to seeing what Michele will do with the role. As The Blast previously reported, Samantha Ware, who had previously called out Michele for her "micro transgressions" of Glee, criticized her casting in "Funny Girl" as well.
Samantha Ware Calls Out Lea Michele & Her 'Funny Girl' Casting
Michele took to Instagram after the news broke to call her casting "a dream come true."
"A dream come true is an understatement," she wrote. "I’m so incredibly honored to join this amazing cast and production and return to the stage playing Fanny Brice on Broadway. See you September 6th."
Yes, I’m online today. Yes, I see y’all. Yes, I care. Yes, im affected. Yes, I’m human. Yes, I’m Black. Yes, I was abused. Yes, my dreams were tainted. Yes, Broadway upholds whiteness. Yes, Hollywood does the same. Yes, silence is complicity. Yes, I’m loud. Yes, I’d do it again.

Meanwhile, Ware also took to Twitter, saying that "Broadway upholds whiteness" and that "silence is complicity."
"Yes, I’m online today," she began. "Yes, I see y’all. Yes, I care. Yes, im affected. Yes, I’m human. Yes, I’m Black. Yes, I was abused. Yes, my dreams were tainted. Yes, Broadway upholds whiteness. Yes, Hollywood does the same. Yes, silence is complicity. Yes, I’m loud. Yes, I’d do it again."
In 2020, Ware called Michele out for the way she had treated her and Michele apologized for her "perceived behavior." Fans called out her "weak" apology, but it seems like most fans are over the drama and just want the two to bury the hatchet.
