Snooki Dragged Into Senate Race, Used for Political Propaganda Against Dr. Oz

Running for a government office isn't usually a quiet or boring experience, and the current Pennsylvania Senate Race is proving that by giving off some serious Jersey vibes. Lt. Gov. John Fetterman, Mehmet Oz's Democratic opponent, shook things up in a very Jersey way on his Twitter page this week. This is the second time he's shouted out Oz's ties to the Garden State, but this time, he recruited some help from a well-known Jersey friend.
Nicole Polizzi, 34, also known as Snooki from MTV's "Jersey Shore," was pulled into the senate race for some Jersey drama. She appeared in a 47-second video on Thursday that speaks directly to Oz, 62, questioning his Pennsylvania residency. "I heard that you moved from New Jersey to Pennsylvania to look for a new job. And personally, I don't know why anyone would wanna leave Jersey, cause it's like the best place ever and we're all hot messes," she said in the short video. "But I want to say best of luck to you. I know you're away from home and you're in a new place but Jersey will not forget you. I just wanna let you know, I will not forget you."

Getting a Little Help from a Jersey Friend
Polizzi's help was enlisted by Fetterman through Cameo, where users pay celebrities to send personalized video messages to others. It appears that Fetterman told Polizzi to address the fact that Oz recently moved to Pennsylvania from New Jersey in search of a new job.
Polizzi's message started off sweet but took a little bit of a turn. "Don't worry because you'll be back home in Jersey soon, this is only temporary," she said. Throughout all of Oz's campaign, Fetterman has questioned the legitimacy of Oz running in the state of Pennsylvania after being a long-time resident of New Jersey. Oz became eligible to run in Pennsylvania after moving into a house owned by his in-laws in New Jersey. Fetterman has made it a point to make sure everyone is aware of that fact.
"Dr. Oz for NJ" and Other Subtle Messages
Polizzi's video wasn't the first attempt at throwing his opponent under the bus. Just last week, Fetterman hired a plane to skirt the Jersey shore with a banner that read "HEY DR. OZ, WELCOME HOME TO NJ! ❤️ JOHN." Fetterman posted a photo of the plane on his Twitter for all to see, whether at the shore or not. And speaking of his Twitter account, his current cover photo is a sticker that reads, "Dr. Oz For NJ."
In response to all the attention put on Oz's state of residency and legitimacy in running in Pennsylvania, Oz responded, "Pennsylvanians that I speak to are quite clear that they care much more about what I stand for than where I'm from." And although he is a New Jersey native, Oz attended both college and medical school at the University of Pennsylvania. The physician is nine percentage points behind Fetterman, according to a USA Today/Suffolk University poll from mid-June.
Shots Were Fired, but was Polizzi in on the Joke?
There's no word on whether Polizzi was just an innocent bystander used for entertainment purposes, or if she was even in on the joke, but one thing is certain, it may have been a well-spent money for Fetterman. As of Friday morning, Polizzi is still available to book on Cameo with prices starting at $300. According to MSNBC contributor Sam Stein, the short video cost the campaign more than $390.
Besides her stints on Cameo, Polizzi is busy starring on MTV's "Jersey Shore: Family Vacation" with her OG castmates. She's also got the full time job of mom to her three kids - Lorenzo, 9, Giovanna, 7, and Angelo, 3, with husband Jionni LaValle.
