Ivana Trump, the first wife of former United States President Donald Trump, passed away at the age of 73.

On Thursday, police responded to a call at 12:30 ET to her apartment in New York City saying that she had gone into cardiac arrest. On Friday, TMZ provided more information on her cause of death.

Ivana Trump's Cause Of Death Revealed

On Friday, TMZ reported that her cause of death was due to blunt impact injuries to her torso. These injuries were reported to be due to a fall down the stairs in her home.

Shortly after her passing hit the news, the Trump family released a statement to ABC News, saying:

“It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Ivana Trump. Our mother was an incredible woman — a force in business, a world-class athlete, a radiant beauty, and a caring mother and friend. Ivana Trump was a survivor. She fled from communism and embraced this country. She taught her children grit and toughness, compassion, and determination.”

The Czech-American immigrant had been born on February 20, 1949, and had three children - Ivanka Trump, Donald Trump Jr., and Eric Trump - with her second husband, former U.S. President Donald Trump.

The prominent businesswoman and author was married to Alfred Winklmayr from 1971 to 1973. She then married Donald Trump in 1977, but they divorced in 1992. In 1995, she married Riccardo Mazzucchelli, but they divorced in 1997. She then married Rossano Rubicondi in 2008, but they divorced in 2009.

Donald Trump Shares News Of His Ex-Wife's Death To Truth Social

Political analyst Camryn Kinsey shared a screenshot from Trump's Truth Social application to Twitter, since he has been banned from the social media platform.

“I am very saddened to inform all of those that loved her, of which there are many, that Ivana Trump has passed away at her home in New York City,” the former president wrote. “She was a wonderful, beautiful, and amazing woman, who led a great and inspirational life. Her pride and joy were her three children, Donald Jr., Ivanka, and Eric. She was so proud of them, as we were all so proud of her. Rest In Peace, Ivana!”

In a statement, Ivana's oldest daughter, Ivanka, also took to Instagram to post a thoughtful tribute to her mother.

“Heartbroken by the passing of my mother,” she wrote. “Mom was brilliant, charming, passionate, and wickedly funny.”

“She modeled strength, tenacity, and determination in her every action,” she continued. “She lived life to the fullest - never forgoing an opportunity to laugh and dance.”

“I will miss her forever and will keep her memory alive in our hearts always,” she concluded.

Tributes and Condolences Pour In For Ivana Trump On Social Media

Congressmen Byron Donalds tweeted, "Erika and I extend our deepest condolences to the Trump Family during this devastating time. Ivana Trump led an extraordinary and dignified life, and her legacy will forever live on through her three kids, @DonaldJTrumpJr, @EricTrump, and @IvankaTrump. May she Rest In Peace."

Former White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany also sent the Trump family her condolences, tweeting, "My family and I send all of our love and prayers to President Trump @IvankaTrump@DonaldJTrumpJr@EricTrump and the entire Trump family for the loss of Ivana Trump. Thinking of you all during this very difficult time."

Senior Editor Jack Posobic tweeted, "Prayers up for the Trump family on the passing of Ivana Trump, the mother of Don Jr, Ivanka, and Eric. Eternal rest grant unto her, O Lord, and may perpetual light shine upon her."
