TV personality, Amber Rose just shed some light on how she sees religion. The model first gained attention in 2008 for appearing in Young Jeezy and Kanye West’s “Put On” music video. Soon after, she started publicly dating West and starred in several Louis Vuitton ads.
After splitting up with West in 2010, the 38-year-old went on to marry Wiz Khalifa but the couple divorced in 2016. Rose recently released her debut single, “GYHO/Gotcha,” which toed the same line as the media personality’s stance on femininity and sexuality.
Rose recently talked about her views on religion. In a released podcast interview, the media personality talked about how she was raised in a strict Christian home, but the religion didn’t stick with her.
Amber Rose Does Not Believe In God
Rose just revealed that she doesn’t believe in the existence of God or Jesus but claimed Buddhism was something more up her alley. The television personality joined Raq on the “It’s Tricky” podcast (Via TMZ) and shared her thoughts on religion.
Ms. Rose revealed that between Christianity and science, the latter’s explanation of how humans came to be made much more sense to her. The model, however, clarified that Scientology wasn’t in the books for her.
The 38-year-old revealed that she grew up in a church-going family and was constantly told by her mother to avoid several television shows linked to “the devil.” Despite how she was raised, Rose admitted that she only came up with more questions than answers, especially when looking at the religion’s Bible stories.
When asked what she believed in now, the model revealed that she had more reason to believe in Buddhism, mainly because it dealt more with philosophy than religion.
She Released ‘GYHO/Gotcha’
Rose recently moved from appearing in music videos as a vixen to making her own songs. The model released her twist on hot girl summer, a new single titled “GYHO/Gotcha.” The sexually charged acronym stands for “Get ya h-- on” and is a remix of “Get Ya Roll On” by Big Tymers.
In the released music video, the 38-year-old and her friends took it all the way and flaunted several Playboy promo attire and logos. She recently signed into the brand with Cardi B as its Creative Director. The song was produced by Mannie Fresh, who made a cameo in the accompanying video for the music.
While this song is her debut to music, Rose previously dabbled in rapping almost a decade ago. “GYHO” closely mirrored the model’s approach to femininity and sexuality. Since the movement began in 2015, Rose has been one of the leading faces of the SlutWalk movement. The Los Angeles match is held annually to protest rape culture, support sexual assault victims, and, of course, curb slut shaming.
Amber Rose On Kim Kardashian & Kanye West’s Split
Following Kim Kardashian and her ex-husband West’s split early this year, several commentators have called out the rapper for his borderline obsessive behavior toward the reality tv star post-split.
Rose also talked about the issue but reflected on the time she split from West and the public’s reaction to his comments. According to the model, during that period, she was the recipient of “a lot of punches, figuratively” in terms of how the public saw things.
She mentioned a time during the new stages of the breakup when the rapper had “bullied” her and said offensive jokes at her expense. The “Donda” artist notably said after breaking up with her, he needed to “take 30 showers.” Rose revealed that at the time, she felt like the public thought, “You didn’t deserve him; he’s much better than you.”
She Believes The Public Is More Aware
Still talking about the public’s reaction after her stint with West, Rose said that she saw progress concerning how people viewed toxicity and their reaction to it. They were now more willing to point out when a person was in the wrong.
After her high-flying relationship with West, Rose went on to date Wiz Khalifa and then married the rapper. The duo parted ways in 2016 but had a son together during the marriage. While talking about her fame, the model acknowledged that it initially came from her relationship with celebrities and, because of that, felt scrutinized and caricatured most of the time. She revealed this was primarily due to her past profession as a stripper.
