Derek Jeter Shoots Down NOTORIOUS Rumors About His One-Night Stands

Business mogul and Ex-baseball player Derek Jeter is fed up with the long-time rumors. In ESPN's upcoming docuseries "The Captain," the 48-year-old opened up about his personal life. Per The Daily Beast, he finally cleared things up about the rumors that he used to give gift bags to women he had one-night stands in the 90s. 

As seen in a recent release from ESPN, the documentary was divided into seven parts and discussed Jeter's two-decade-long career in the Major League Baseball Hall of Fame. It also told fans about his life "on and off the baseball field."

Throughout his career, Jeter had a reputation for his long list of love interests and flings. He was also linked to many popular women like Vanessa Lachey, Mariah Carey, Jessica Biel, and others. However, he settled down in 2016 after getting married to Hannah Davis, a Sports Swimsuit Model at the time.

Decades later, the pair are still happily married and share three kids, four-year-old Bella Raine, three-year-old Story Grey, and their seven-month-old River Rose. When the New York Post published an article on the rumor in 2011, Jeter didn't publicly address it. However, he was aware of the story and denied it entirely. 

"Yeah, I read the article. Yeah, of course," Jeter said of the write-up. Per The Daily Beast, he also revealed how surprised he was when he first read it. "You know, you see it, and then it's like, how the fuck did people come up with this? You know, basically, that's it. And who would believe this shit? And you believed it!"

Jeter also added how frustrated he was that fans kept spreading the rumors. "It's a story that became larger than life. People keep regurgitating this story that never happened. Never happened."

Another part of the story that upset him was that he used to send women out of his building through the back to hide them from the paparazzi. He would then take them to a car with a basket of gifts. 

The rumor got many fans' attention and spread so far that the star got approached by strangers. They would walk up to him to tell him how they started giving their own one-night stands gift bags. In the series, Jeter specifically recalled a cringe moment with one fan because of the story.

"I remember being at a Starbucks one time and there's some random guy behind me and he says,' Hey, I just want to let you know that I'm giving out gift baskets because you did," the five-time World Series champion recalled. "And I turned around and said, 'You're a fucking idiot!' And the look on his face… like, did he think I was gonna say, 'Yeah, good job, man!'"

While he was obviously pissed at the time, the rumors didn't end there. A source in the 2011 article claimed that Jeter mistakenly gave the same woman multiple gift bags after forgetting that they'd slept together multiple times before. 

It read: "This summer, he ended up hooking up with a girl who he had hooked up with once before, but Jeter seemed to have forgotten about the first time and gave her the same identical parting gift, a gift basket with a signed Derek Jeter baseball." The source added, "He basically gave her the same gift twice because he'd forgotten hooking up with her the first time!"

After addressing the rumors, Jeter also gave fans some interesting details about his love life with Davis. He spoke about their challenging journey to parenthood. However, this won't be the first time fans hear about their marriage, as Davis gave some details about it in The Players' Tribune in 2017.

She said she wanted to "get to know him on my own terms" when they first met, not through his internet image. "Derek and I met during the off-season, and I think that was a lucky break. It let us spend some time together away from New York. I didn't have any preconceptions about who he was, and I didn't need much more to go on than this: I had met the nicest guy and wanted to get to know him on my own terms. Not Google's," she wrote.
