Jennifer Aniston and Brad Pitt Are Putting The Past Behind Them

They were the golden couple of the early 2000s, however Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston made us question the entire concept of love when they stomped on our hearts by announcing their split.

Even worse, the split was caused by Brad Pitt allegedly cheating on Jen with his Mr. and Mrs. Smith co-star Angelina Jolie.

As we know now, Brad and Angelina had many children, however recently split up, and Jennifer married Justin Theroux, splitting with him recently as well.

After their respective divorces, fans of the couple have been desperately hoping they would get back together and mend the pieces of our broken hearts.

In 1998, the couple went out together after being introduced by their managers. Jennifer later spoke about that date to Diane Sawyer in 2004, saying, "It was weird. That was a really easy evening. It was really fun."

By 1999, they cemented their status as a power couple, announcing their engagement on stage at a Sting concert.

Jennifer and Brad were married in July 2000 in front of 200 guests in Malibu. Jennifer spoke to Rolling Stone about the wedding, saying, "I had those typical jitters the day before my wedding, but the day of, I was just excited in a good way."

In 2003, Jennifer spoke about her feelings on the relationship to W Magazine, which unfortunately is sad to look back on now.

She said, "Is he the love of my life? I think you're always sort of wondering, 'Are you the love of my life?' I mean, I don't know. I've never been someone who says, 'He's the love of my life.' He's certainly a big love in my life."

She continued, "And I know that we something special, especially in all this chaos. In this nutty, brilliant, wonderful, hard business that we have, it's nice to have somebody who's anchored and knows you, really knows all of you."

Despite their split over "that" Angelina Jolie cheating scandal, it appears this former couple has put the past behind them after not speaking for a number of years.

A source recently told Us Weekly that the two are back in touch and still feel a close bond. They said, “They’ve always cared about each other, and they think fondly of their time together. For Jen, seeing Brad is like seeing a dear old friend again. They have a real bond.”

Brad has been through a rough time lately, after problems between him and his children, and separating from Angelina Jolie amid rumors of a drinking problem.

However, it appears he and Jen lean on each other quite a bit and are ready to move forward. Another source told Us Weekly, “A reason Brad and Jen get along so well now is that they’ve agreed to bury the past and not analyze what went wrong. They’re both looking forward, not back.”

Will these two ever mend their relationship enough to get back together? Who knows, but it seems they've at least been able to strike up a friendship again.
