Last night's 'Saturday Night Live' was one for the books. Former cast member Eddie Murphy returned to 'SNL' after a 35-year hiatus reviving his most iconic characters, Weekend Update hosts Colin Jost and Michael Che wrote cringey jokes for each other to read Cards Against Humanity style, and Lizzo appeared as musical guest for the first time.

Fans were concerned that Lizzo might not be able to perform after cancelling two of her concerts. She reportedly came down with the flu.

"To my Hartford fans and Hot 93.7, I am so sorry I have to cancel my performance tomorrow due to the flu," Lizzo said in a statement in regards to her concert according to PopCulture. "I hate letting my fans down more than anything. I hope that you all can forgive me while I recover and I promise we are doing everything we can to make it up to you."

Fortunately, the rest paid off and Lizzo started to feel better by Tuesday.

"NO MORE FEVER THANK U GOD," she tweeted. "Thank y'all for the kind words and prayers that really helped."

By Saturday, Lizzo was ready to take down the 'SNL' house. The first song she sang was her breakout song "Truth Hurts." For this song, she wore a glamorous, fitted trench coat dress. She wisely chose to rap some of the lyrics that she would normally sing in order to preserve her voice. Her energy and flashy choreography was as fierce as ever.

She then sang her girl-power anthem "Good as Hell" for her second song. She wore a powerful tuxedo suit for this number. Before singing, she preached a message to fans, "Happy Holidays, y'all. Remember to be kind to one another. But most important, be good to yourself." She once again held off from belting those "Good as Hell" high notes so she could save up for her impressive, long, and high note at the end of the song.

All in all, fans were impressed by Lizzo's fabulous performance despite her illness.

Eddie Murphy also brought down the house by playing his favorite old characters Gumby, Mr. Robinson, Buckwheat, and Velvet Jones. Murphy also appeared in new sketches related to the holidays
